I took my maps folder from Insurgency and put them in my Garrys Mod folder. Now whenever I go to start an Insurgency map in Garrys Mod, the game crashes. I don't know why, because I can play the maps fine on Insurgency. Am I missing something? Has this happened to anyone else?
Also, I tried it in Garrys Mod 9 too, and it does the same thing.
Well usually if it has alot of good graffics it wont work.
If it still wont work i have a friend who sent me gmod 10 for free so ill give it to you just message me.

BECAUSE INSURGENCY DOES NOT USE DEFAULT TEXTURES AND MODELS , BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT CHEAPO LIKE MOST HL2 MOD TEAMS.
so in order for the maps to work , you also need to copy over the materials and models folder.
A thank you x 1 will suffice.

If it is missing a model it won't crash burn and die a slow painful death you get an error symbol or a missing texture (purple checkerboard).
And if that happened you can just copy materials and models over.
A zing you x 1 will suffice.

I didn't say it would crash did I dickhead?
And you just repeated there what I told him to do.
A x 1 hitting yourself in the face for being a fucktard shall suffice.
My problem is, that when i go to singleplayer, click on ins_ramadi, ins_almaden or ins_baghdad it doesnt do anything. Just closes the map menu, nothing else happens. If anyone that has a REAL WORKING SOLUTION please reply!

Welcome to 3 years ago buddy

its maybe the fact it is missing models?
probably because garrysmod=/=insurgency
-snip-
Well, any ideas how to make anything work? There are no .bsp files in the insurgency folders, and i cant make them bsp. That means i cant move any working files from insurgency to gmod. I only found the cache files from the soundcache folder in the insurgency/insurgency/maps folder, and they dont do shit.

Did you get Insurgency over Steam. If so, the .bsp is probably in the GCF under C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/.
You will need GCFScape to extract the .bsp from the .gcf.
However, you are not done just yet. You will also have to extract the models and materials that are in that map. There was some sort of console command that listed all the materials but I cannot recall it right off the top of my head. If you do it right, your map should work.
