• Windows Refuses To Use Monitor

Let me start off with some images: Windows Monitor Display Menu Nvidia Control Panel My monitor was working earlier. When I tried changing the refresh rate through Windows, the main monitor went black, the other monitors froze (audio was normal), and then I reset the computer. Upon resetting the computer, the monitor didn't detect any source, and Windows basically shunned the monitor. I have tried plugging the Display Port in and out. I have tried switching it to a different Display Port. I have tried a clean install of Nvidia drivers. I have tried removing and disabling the monitor and its driver. Windows 10. Monitor model is in the images above. My 2 other monitors are working fine.
Can you change back the refresh rate again?
Unfortunately not. Nvidia control panel will not let me, and Windows is no different.
Reinstalling your video card driver may work as a last solution, I had this issue a while ago and that's what I ended up doing after a lot of hours of frustration.
You should be able to reset the monitor to its factory defaults with the menu buttons on the bottom or side, try doing that?
You might already have done the following, but would still like to do some clarifications. Instead of trying to enable the monitor in drivers, do note in the first picture the "disconnect this monitor" - it's used for selecting whether or not to use it, duplicate etc. You should be able to change your refresh rate by at the bottom of the settings screen (Windows) going to advanced display settings, then select the monitor and then hit "Display adapter properties" at the bottom. To change refresh rate go to the "Monitor" tab.

Very shitty design for a monitor, really.
You might already have done the following, but would still like to do some clarifications. Have you tried disconnecting one of your other monitors? Does that change anything? It shouldn't with DisplayPort but give it a try.
Have you tried disconnecting one of your other monitors? Does that change anything? It shouldn't with DisplayPort but give it a try.
Just tried it in various ways. I unplugged one monitor while keeping the broken one in, no change. I unplugged both monitors while keeping the broken one in, nothing. I reset the computer while only having the broken one plugged in. Black screen still. I'm losing it. Oh yeah, and earlier I tried resetting my computer with the monitor unplugged, then plugging it back in after the computer was running. No luck with that, either.
Bad cable maybe? They aren't hard to break.
I'm not so sure that is the case, since this happened after changing the refresh rate of the monitor. Nothing physical took place when the display broke. I'll try one more thing, I'm going to use the HDMI cable from my other monitor on my BenQ to see if that does anything. UPDATE: HDMI FUCKING WORKS but HDMI doesn't support 144hz so maybe the cable did somehow fuck up??? I'm super confused. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] Ok wtf I found this solution from googling "gtx 980 Display Port not working" fucking unplug your monitor for a few minutes it fucking worked I am glad that I could find a fix for this I am pissed that it was this simple.
