The police, they defend us from crime. But not all police are good role models. Some are hypocrites. On YouTube you can find videos of them breaking laws. On the news awhile back some took advantage of this drunk woman. Don't get me wrong, I know some officers who are friendly.
I personally have seen them do things, that if we did it, we would be written up for it. I saw one recently who parked in a Handicap spot, with NO handicap license, and no emergency. It got me so mad that he thought he was so special to park there to get some coffee. I have also seen one park right in front of a fire hydrant. I would've recorded it, but I am a teenager and don't have the nerve. :P
The object of this thread is to tell me some incidents that you've seen that cops violate the law
Whether it be a police officer, sheriff, state trooper, or any law enforcement.
EDIT: I remember back in 6th grade, our middle school cop would look at girls' butts. I would always see him checking the girls out and I thought he was some pedophile
Here downtown in Hot Springs, Arkansas when that skateboarder was put to the ground in that one video. I watched it from the deli shop on that street.

those are some really petty things im sure all of us break sometime, and he probably had a good reason to do some of them except for the coffee
saw a cop shoot a girl in the head for no reason at all

Yeah some of the American Police is stupid. I live in Texas and they are stupid. When I lived in England the police weren't that bad, but then again I was 7 so I don't recall.
Aside from the annoying motherfuckers that park by hills, all cops I have had the pleasure of dealing with have been perfectly reasonable people
A store wanted to search my backpack once for no reason, so I said "no fuck that" and they said that I had to get searched or they would call the cops, I refused and they did. One officer showed up and he said I had to be searched, and I said "No, I'm not getting searched. I have my rights."" and I just left, the cop tried to force me to stay, but I threatened to call the police ON the police and he backed down.
people who complain about the police are either criminals or people who think a youtube video is empirical evidence of something
be angry at washington if you don't like the shitty laws we get

Lets clarify some things here.
1) "Taking Advantage" is what uneducated people call it. For an officer its called controlling the situation.
2) Police are allowed to break laws to secure a faster response time. Yes, this means parking in a handicap spot even when there is no emergency because, if there was an emergency an officer doesnt want to play the "where did I park" game.
3) People park en-front of fire hydrants all the time. Their loss. Plus, the officer would know if there was a fire near by.
Here have some common things cops do:
1. Speed
2. Illegal Parking
3. Over reaction
4. Illegal lane changes
Fuck the police.
And now to travel off using a machine that gets me to my destination in a most ridiculous manner.

There's no way this story can be real
Cops can't search your shit without a warrant or your permission if I remember right and store owners DEFINITELY can't

I live in a city with very little crime. So I never really see the cops.
Fun fact, my city's population is only 8% Black according to the census.

Ha here it is like 30%
I'm surprised nobody complained about 'racism'.
Good job FP.

They can search literally ANYTHING without a warrant EXCEPT your house.

THE HORRORS
Wait until you get a parking ticket for parking in a handicap spot while you run into a coffee shop for a minute. You'll realize how easy it is to disregard that law as pointless.
Anyway most police are perfectly nice and respectable people. There are obviously a few who seriously abuse their power, but you shouldn't treat every cop like he is scum. They get harassed by "rebellious" teenagers every day for being assholes when they are really just trying to make a living.

"Damn, I can't remember where I parked my police cruiser with the light bar and giant antenna!"
"Oh right, parked it in the handicap spot. I always park in the handicap spot, in case I am a fucking idiot who can't pick a police cruiser out of a line of cars. Fuck handicapped people."

So? You neglected the hispanics.

Since when has that been true? No one is above the law, not even cops. Cops are only allowed to break certain laws and only of it is necessary.

I live in the UK so this might be different, and I might get rated 'dumb'
But if I was in a shop and the workers insisted that they search my bag, I don't think I'd mind that much. I think I'd 'tut' that's it, then let them search it.

True, we have twice the national average of Hispanics in my city.

Even the cop gets in trouble
I always found the things people complain about the police hilarious.
Most of you who drive commit driving violations - Not using blinkers, speeding, illegal lane changes, and various other little things that you can get technically pulled over for. But people seem to rage at police simply because they do it as well. Don't complain about them unless you're a perfect driver. It is also more then likely they don't even bother people for the shit that they do themselves. Half the shit that is done is so small and pathetic I don't see why people rage so hard over it.
People need to stop acting like all cops are fucking robots and chase every violation in the book. Most cops pull people over all the time but hardly give out tickets and just give the good old fashion "verbal warning." They pull people over hoping to find bigger things to get them on (IE Drugs, weapons, and all that.) Only people I don't like are motorcycle cops because all they do is hand out tickets all day, fuckers.
Police are around to help the community and better the community, they would rather go out of their way to help someone then bring them to jail. Most situations that could be solved on the street get instigated because people have this attitude against officers before they even get to meet them. Instead of being a punk just try being cool, trust me it will get you free and clear easier.
However; people are way to in the "fuk da police" mentality thinking every encounter is going to be hostile when in reality they're not.
Protip, if you ask like an ass don't be surprised when you get treated like one. Act like a hardass and expect to be treated like one. Be nice and get treated nice. Use the golden rule. It is a simple solution but people are far to stupid and can't use common sense.
One time I was walking down the street, and a cop pulled up and got out of his car and asked me for a license. I told him "No go fuck yourself fucking pig asshole" and kept walking, but faster because. Then the cop went into my pants and took my wallet and took all the money and my license and credit cards and my gamestop card which had $2.16 on it. Then he laughed and said "I hope you learned your lesson, stupid punk kid" and punched me in my stomach and sped off and gave me a ticket.
