Hi there, I'm Waals Vander.
This thread is to be used for posting your Student (ie COLLEGE NOT YOU AND YOUR MIDDLE SCHOOL FRIENDS RE-IMAGINING LOTR FOR YOUR ENGLISH CLASS) Films and receiving feedback from your peers. If you would like to provide some background on your film, what equipment you used etc. please do. PLEASE ONLY POST FILMS THAT YOU EITHER MADE OR WERE DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN. DON'T POST YOUR FRIENDS VIDEO THAT YOU SAW ON FACEBOOK.
I would also like to use this thread to discuss the film community as a whole, specifically film festivals. The next project for me and other students at my school is attempting to get into http://www.straight8.net/
Recently I've been getting together with film majors at my school and helping them with their films. No I am not a film major, but am majoring in something related to it. We've recently shot two films for two separate class projects using a Nikon DSLR and multiple lenses (I dont remember exactly what lenses we used but I'll ask the guy that acted as Cinematographer later today). Both films were edited using Final Cut Pro 7.
.
Without further ado:

I pretty much made this all by myself. Costumes, editing, camera work ecc.
I used an AWFUL piece of shit of a camera with terrible sound and video quality. But i said fuck it and made the video anyway. We were 4 people in totale involved in this. It took 3 2 days to shoot and 2 days to edit. I am currently working on a second part, using a much better camera and better software to edit.
I don't go to any film school, but next year i am starting film at UNI.
I don't have any college films, but I got my Highschool films. They're not that terrible and they were a thousand times better than the other video the other students made.
I filmed these with a Nikon d90 SLR. The video quality was much better than the class cameras, but the D90 has crappy audio and no input jack for a mic.
This one is my music video

And this is my film, which turned out to be unintentionally racist.
