My system temperature idle

Before zalman 10x extreme:

(before is before stress test, after is after 20 min on full)
after:

(this is after 20 min of run, no idle temps)
I applied the cool paste wrong, too thick a layer. :frown: Fully recommended cpu cooler though, all you need is some better cool paste.
I had ordered some AS5, but it got lost in the mail, and arrived the day after I had installed the heatsink.
The temps are so high because my motherboard (P5N-E SLi) is rubbish and makes my CPU idle at 1,31 volts on stock clocks, even if I limit it to 1,25 it bypasses that or becomes really unstable. :frown:
GPU:

(after 1 hour of CS:S @ 40% fan speed (default))
All are on average (if there is more than one CPU core for example) and idle:
CPU: Q9550 46C
GPU: 8800GTX 74C
HDD: 1TB Western Digital 30C
And that's it because I'm using Speccy and I'm too lazy to start up speedfan.
here i done what you say

everything is abnormally hot because its like a fucking heat wave at the moment

How is that temperature for an i5-750 oc'd to 3.75GHz? Highest it ever goes is 65 Celsius.
Also is it weird for the CPU cores temp being colder then the CPU temp?
Also is it weird for the CPU cores temp being colder then the CPU temp?
no
CPU temp is usually Tcase_u or Tcase, which is the case of the processor. Tcase_u is underneath.. socket temperature. Some boards have a sensor in the socket that is labeled as CPU temp.. this is a very important temperature. On the intel S-Spec page for your processor, it shows it's thermal specification. This is the Tcase max, not the core max. There is a "10c" rule, so if it is specified for 72c.. 82c is the 'max' shutdown. Core temps are generally 15-20c higher than Tcase, so if tcase was at 82c, the cores would be around 100, which would throttle/shut the processor down..
My temps for:
i7 920 @ 4.4 Load: 79C
i7 860 @ 4.0 Load: 81C (1.41 Vcore :frown:)
Q9550 @ 4.2 Load: 55C

tee hee, speedfan is shit for monitoring temperatures. It grabs random values off the SMBUS and tells you they are temperatures.
use HWmonitor

those are far too high
:downs:

Stupid question, but since you seem to know quite a bit about this stuff here it is. How high would you feel comfortable taking an i5-750 to (temp wise).

why's core1 running at 13c while everything else's doing +20?

since it appears the i5 and the i7 all share the same spec sheets, (lynfield or not) I've been saying it's 80c.. there is a guy down at Overclock.net who could help me figure out what the maximum temp for the i5 750 is.

Oh cool, then my hitting ~65 isn't that bad then. Thanks!

one core could be working less than the others, or the sensor is stuck
one core could be working less than the others, or the sensor is stuck
Yea, the second core sensor is stuck.
I refuse to use Speedfan :colbert:

The 3700rpm fan is my Pump's speed monitor not an actual fan.

Not a clue what half the names are referring to though.
enclosure base, i think that's just inside of the case.... I never found out what they were on my macbook

load temps are 56C for both cores and 84C video

Compared to you guys my i7 is running a bit hot.
no it isn't
Underload some of the cores get up to 80 degrees.
