From rejected settlement offers to muscle flexing on both sides, things are starting to heat up in San Jose, California. In the latest round of documents examined by All Things D, a few new items of interest have been uncovered. Whether or not Samsung’s Android devices are really Apple “copycats” is often debated in court and on tech blogs, but some newly uncovered internal Samsung documents suggest that Samsung may have its work cut out for it while trying defend its designs. Samsung was forced by the court to furnish a number of internal documents, and similarities between Samsung’s Android devices and Apple’s wares are apparently often a topic of discussion. The papers include records of several Samsung employees discussing the similarities themselves. According to one document, Samsung even had a number of reports from Best Buy stating that customers were returning Samsung’s Galaxy tablets because when they bought them, they thought they were getting iPads. The South Korea-based consumer electronics giant is currently doing its best to prevent these damning documents from being used in the trial, for obvious reasons. If they are permitted as evidence, however, it could certainly spell trouble for Samsung.
http://www.bgr.com/2012/07/27/samsung-tablet-returns-best-buy-ipad/ Things aren't looking too good for Samsung right now :v: If consumers and even your own lawyers can't tell the difference between your product and the product your being accused of copying, well, that doesn't exactly help your case in a patent dispute.
I can't believe people are stupid enough to not look at and read the box art to determine which is which. Any good judge would throw the returns as evidence out because it was the customer's fault. (hence a dumb for the article, not for OP)
That's not really Samsung's fault. I don't see how that even happened. Did the customer not look at the packaging? Does the Samsung tablet come in a white box with a half-eaten apple on it? No? Then it's not an iPad
Wow what idiots. I mean really HOW DO YOU DO THAT?
The thing has samsung printed on it... The entire interface is different... How? How do functional adults drop over a hundred dollars on a product without properly checking what it actually is?
Because people are just thick today. Oh darn, bought a corvette because it looks kinda like the viper, but I wanted a viper, so I need to return this.
I dunno, the big "SAMSUNG" kinda gives it away as not being an apple iPad. Unless you're just absolutely uninformed and think all tablets are iPads.
This is actually a feel good article since it means that even an illiterate retard can make enough money to buy an Ipad in the US.
I bet the people in H&S (me included) are dying laughing at this.
This is actually a feel good article since it means that even an illiterate retard can make enough money to buy an Ipad in the US.
did you learn nothing from your one month ban
How is this proof in the patent war so most people are tech illiterate idiots, what's new?
Surely the name on the box should have given it away.
hey its white, must be one of them fancy ipads
Kill them. Save the gene pool! :suicide:
As stupid as people are nowadays, I really wouldn't put it past Apple to hire people, or use their own employees, to do this shit on purpose.
As stupid as people are nowadays, I really wouldn't put it past Apple to hire people, or use their own employees, to do this shit on purpose.
Dat PR stunt
you literally have to be fucking retarded, blind, and illiterate to fuck up this badly how the fuck
Kill them. Save the gene pool! :suicide:
Start with the young ones first, they'll be biting us hard if we don't. :suicide:
How is this proof in the patent war so most people are tech illiterate idiots, what's new?
Basically Apple's claiming that because Samsung copied the iPad and iOS and selling most of those products for a lower price, people are getting confused and buying Samsung products instead of Apple products, and therefore hurting Apple's sales. And this article demonstrates that phenomenon to some extent.
HOW CAN YOU NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE
On a serious aside though it isn't inconceivable that a non English speaking person could accidentally make this mistake.
On a serious aside though it isn't inconceivable that a non English speaking person could accidentally make this mistake.
How do you say iPad in Japanese then? Didn't think so.
Okay, so what if people are dumb enough to not know the difference between the galaxy and the iPad. I bet that's the same with HTC and other tablet device makers as well.
The thing has samsung printed on it... The entire interface is different... How? How do functional adults drop over a hundred dollars on a product without properly checking what it actually is?
"i thought it was the thing they had on the morning show"
"i thought it was the thing they had on the morning show"
Unless they said explicitly it wasn't an iPad, then this would be the case.
How do you say iPad in Japanese then? Didn't think so.
Hell, samsung is korean
