AD Blocker Plus, saves the day.
YouTube do this already. Not too fussed since sound isn't activated automatically. Heck, Steam do it.

Yeah, it's becoming a fact of life (for those not using adblockers). At least it's not making sound.
It's a bit creepy how it downloads ads in the background, though. Makes me even more glad I just use the mobile website - it has most of the functionality thanks to javascript and (I'm assuming) doesn't have the privileges to do this kind of shit.
Gotta monetize those beheadings.

The facebook app is meh at best.
As long as your devices isn't an old one with less ram than a late 90's computer then it's often better to access FB with a ordinary browser instead.
I've been using Adblock Plus for so long now that the internet without Adblock to me looks really spammy
