Alright, so I have this really old crappy computer that windows doesn't work anymore on, so I installed Ubuntu on it. Well that didn't fix the problem really, (partly since it was my first time partitioning a hard drive and i had to do it twice) so I am going to format this computer and install Ubuntu fresh on it and see if it works.
So since windows isn't working, how do I format everything on Ubuntu? Also, (this may seem retarded) but the BIOS will still stay on the machine and I will be able to just put in a Ubuntu CD, right?
Just was looking at the FP Linux distro thread, do you think I should try that or stick with Ubuntu?
To be honest, if you don't know how to partition a hard drive, or even where the BIOS is, you shouldn't be using Linux.
If you're going to insist on it though, first off, the BIOS will be fine. Secondly, stick with Ubuntu. Then, just put in the Ubuntu DVD and start the installer. It'll let you format from there.

Yes, I do know how to partition a hard drive, but when I set the computer up I was 10 and am only now starting to want to use it.
