Commercials. We all know them. There are many types, some creative, others just plain annoying, and some even rude/racist, but those usually get banned right after release, or even before release. Now, some work really well. They advertise the product, show what's good about it, and that's it. This is usually the case with television commercials. Now these are widely accepted, and dealt with. You just sit through them, wait a bit, then continue watching whatever show or movie you were watching. With the rise of the Internet, there came advertisements on websites. These are still a tad hated, with many people using Ad-Blockers, like myself on certain websites (when they have pop-ups and shit). It all still works just fine, whatever, just a small side picture somewhere you can ignore and just not-click on it if you're not interested. But - and I speak for myself - now see a rise in another form of advertisement, that mixes that of television commercials with the Internet. Commercial clips un-skippable embedded in flash videos/clips. Youtube has them. You want to watch some movie, but first you have to sit through 20-50 seconds of commercial bullcrap you don't give a shit about because you only came there to watch the clip. You can't skip, can't reload, can't do anything, but wait for it to end. Worst example as far as I know: South Park. I'm not sure if every country/everyone gets this, but there are three commercial clips embedded in the Southpark Episode Viewer. Right now, it's done by Reaal, a Dutch ensurance company. They have the WORST commercial, of some nasty looking baby getting his ear licked by a dog (wtf), and another one where this old woman is going "DAAAAW" in an obnoxious voice, over her grand child. Then some bullshit about a small teddybear and a huge fucking teddybear, and the guy buying the large teddybear obviously being much cooler because he can afford it due to low insurance payments (WTF). Personally, seeing those commercials, I instantly think to myself: "Fuck Reaal, they make these bullshit commercials and put them in between an episode of South Park I want to watch. Fuck. Them. I'll go to another company later when I need it." I don't see how anyone would not be annoyed by this. Maybe it's the combination of a horrible commercial plus putting it in a place (South Park) where it doesn't at all fit with the group of people that comes to such a website. So, tl;dr, I'm raging over embedded flash commercials. My 2 cents.
The only commercials i can tolerate watching over and over again during commercial break are Billy Mays' commercials. Others are just so god damn annoying after a while.
I love the Burger King commercials, Billy Mays', and the Old Spice commercials. That is all. The rest I'll either mute or open a new tab to find something else to do while I'm waiting for a dumb Youtube Ad.
The only commercial type I like is the one where they make you laugh, then put a small message to buy there product at the end.
i dont have youtube commercials.
i dont have youtube commercials.
I actually don't have them too, but I've seen them at times I was forced to use IE. Now that I'm stuck with them in another video player, I remember how much I hate them.
Coke commercials are awesome too, but when they make a commercial so random like.. Suddenly there's just some superhero jumping around and flying and he sees a product, crashes through the building to get it and flies away. That's my view of a CRAPPY commercial.
OP needs to learn patience. Seriously, if you're raging over a 20-second commercial, you have serious issues. And yeah, the commercials might suck, and there might be lots of them, but the people that rely on the revenue they bring in to eat and keep their sites up benefit from them.
i dont have youtube commercials.
there are youtube commercials? I guess I don't have them.
Well, okay, I'm not really raging, it's just annoying and it seems like a really stupid move of the company. Hence the anti-commercialism.
Buy
Adblock removes the youtube commercials for me as they are not hardcoded into the video-data but rather load on their own.

I don't mind a commercial when I watch a video that's like 5 minutes or more, but when I want to watch a 10 second clip of something, doesn't matter what, and I get a 30 second advertisement, something's wrong there.
I like Marabous commercial.

Commercials eat balls. especially on DVD's. That is why vhs kicks blu-ray's ass
It's true. When I see a lot of advertising from a company, I feel like I'm 'giving in' if I do business with them. I always try to avoid it. It doesn't help that most commercials insult the intelligence of their viewers. If I saw a McDonald's commercial where they said 'low grade food at a cheap price', I'd probably be more likely to buy it just because of the honesty.. but no, it always has to be bullshit
All together now ... GO COMPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE!
All together now ... GO COMPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE!
I like that advert, makes me chuckle.
Blip TV is worse, sometimes the video will end after the commercial is over and you have to reload the page.
Some are funny, lots suck.
Advertisers should get the fivesecondfilms guy to make commercials for them. They would be really effective and be stuck in your mind, since you didn't have time to fully react.
And of course, keep them in places they belong. Like why does South Park (Internet episode viewing website, official) have Family Guy commercials? :v:
Those goddamn talking eharmony ads at the bottom of Facepunch. Not like I was ever gonna use it in the first place, but just for those ads, now I'll refuse to.
evony adds god damn I got grounded for a day for it being on my screen
At least you don't get fucking Go compare adverts on the internet. God I wish that opera singer would fucking die, I hate it that much.
I hate forced internet commercials, I always imagine that if I had a download limit I'd be pissed that it was being wasted on adverts. However, I don't so I just mute it and wait (somehow muting it makes me feel better)
internet commercials are more annoying than tv. I get on the internet to escape commercials.
I found the GoCompare guy's facebook.
