After the rousing two retweets that was the "talk like a pirate day" sale, you can see why. The current sale features gaming's most "inclusive, diverse, & empowering titles" such as Bioshock Infinite, Watch_Dogs, and Duke Nukem Forever.
The news here is that D2D exists I thought they got absorbed into gamestop?
I thought they died along with Vileplanet
I thought they died along with Vileplanet
They died and got brought back by different owners several times, such is life in corporate business, now they're just desperate for attention in a market where they have no chance in.
the butt-devastation in the trigger warning sale announcement tweet is beautiful https://twitter.com/Direct2Drive/status/648930593296773120
nice, D2D is where i bought arma
The funniest thing about this is they expect people to pay money for Duke Nukem Forever.
what a lame attention grab
The gimmick of the sale is a bit funny. The responses though, that's the comedy gold.
I would buy from them if I had the ability to transfer keys into Steam. I still have GTAIV from a sale I got 6 years ago.
The funniest thing about this is they expect people to pay money for Duke Nukem Forever.
The day I see it for $1 is the day I buy it.
what a lame attention grab
I don't know, I think it's actually kind of clever for a fps sale.
Anybody remember having the fileplanet download manager with D2D ads?
Just says "not for sale on most".
I get triggered every time I see Unity for sale that's for sure
The term trigger in the emotional sense comes from disorders like PTSD and traumatic events which have left many both physically and emotionally crippled. Call me an SJW if you like, I don't really like this ad. Just because some people over use or mess up the use of the term 'trigger' doesn't remove its meaning within actual mental health disorders.

Context is everything, ignore it to your detriment.

"Everyone look at this butthurt SJW, totally rekt. #LOL" The 'people who pretend to be triggered over tame content' crowd is extremely limited and hugely blown out of proportion. Most people who actually socialize with real human beings don't even know that's really a problem, it's all the MRA's who blow it up.

I also like how SJWs are a small insignificant minority, don't matter and hardly actually exist, but those damn MRAs though, they're like, just everywhere man, ugh.
The day I see it for $1 is the day I buy it.
I got it for free and it's still not worth it. It's the one game I played that managed to offend even me.
Bad games trigger me.
Pretty much this. It wasn't the topless women being actually tortured horribly that got to me, it was the fact that the 2 hours leading up to that point where the most dull 2 hours I had ever experienced in a video game so by that point I was like "yeah this isn't worth putting up with." That scene just made me realize how bad the game was.

We already got trigger warnings, the labels tell you if it has violence, blood and gore, nudity, sexual violence, etc. So good job everyone! You've already won! Guess that's not good enough. Saw people actually complain that pomegranates look too much like gore and should have trigger warnings. Guess making a simple lighthearted joke about it is too far, too, taking the piss out of the totally unreasonable people who take it too far and not actually out of people with legitimate problems who aren't anywhere near a thing like this is just too offensive. Not sure what MRAs or Feminism has to do with PTSD or trigger warnings, please explain. Guess you just wanted a convenient label so you could more effectively deride a group of people with whom you disagree. Guess it's okay when you do it. [editline]30th September 2015[/editline] People being offended that people are being offended at offended people. Is this meta-offense? Are we finally in a post-offensive world?

That number doesn't say anything at all. It's just how many people suffer from PTSD in USA.
The problem I have with it is that it's essentially a non-issue.
Yo, are you sure you have quoted the right post?
Sorta used your post as a jumping off point to rant in general. I missed the sarcasm but it still goes for other people. I'll shut up now.
"About 3.6 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 54 (5.2 million people) have PTSD during the course of a given year." - ptsd.ne.gov I mean, you're wrong.
Hello. PTSD doesn't mean what you think it means, it doesn't mean "person who is triggered by words on the interned". That's called being an idiot. If you have such strong fears for specific things, don't seek them out. Go somewhere else. I don't like imagery of peoples heads being cut off, and as such I don't browse websites like Liveleak. It's common sense, right? Kindly, someone who has an actual PTSD diagnosis and believes in free speech.
...Watch Dogs?
