Okay, so basically I've put the thing together and when I turn it on, every part seems to start up but it does not post beep (chasis speaker is connected), and there is no screen output.
Also the CPU_FAN slot does not seem to work, the cpu fan remains off. I immediately turned it off, put the cpu fan into another CHAS_FAN slot and it worked fine.
I've tried re-arranging the ram, using a different PCI-E slot, and I've made sure everything is connected right (to the best of my knowledge).
What do you think is the problem here? The dysfunctional CPU_FAN port makes me think the mobo is faulty (which would make it the second faulty Asus motherboard I've gotten).

I clicked this thread from the home page with my flame arrows ignited and box launchers loaded but I was disappointed.
I'd be good if you were able to post some pictures of the system, it'd give a better idea of what the issue might be.
And when you start up the computer the computer acts as if there's no Video output plugged in?
If that's the case it could be your motherboard.
yeah but it also acts like it's not posting
Probably a DOA Mobo, but try to take out everything that you don't need, and see if it boots with various parts not connected. Leave one stick of ram in. Try different sticks. Take out the video card if you can. If your vcard is toast it sometimes wont let the pc boot. When my old 9800GT died, it wouldnt let the pc boot up, but the pc ran fine without it connected.
*edit* I've also heard that sometimes ... in rare situations, if the mobo is touching the metal case some how... it can be shorting it out and causing it to not boot. Try taking the whole pc out of the case and reassembling it on a non-conductive surface. See if it boots then. (This can be caused by not using the spacers/washers properly)
I've had issues like this in the past. Normally it's just the motherboard has arrived to you damaged. Here is what I recommend.
Take out every component (except CPU) and put 1 at a time. If it works then keep adding the parts one by one until it doesn't boot. Then you will have found your problem.
If that doesn't work then you know it's the motherboard so I would just claim on the warranty. I highly doubt it is the
CPU but you could ask a friend with a LGA1155 motherboard to test it for you.
Good luck.
Makes me feel lucky when I spent like 2 days carefully (also frustrated) putting all the shit inside, wiring it up and finally, firing it up. And it worked flawlessly.
I had mIRC software opened up on the other PC, used it to ask a lot of fast questions specifically to make sure it's alright. I had never even put up together a PC before.
If you've already rma'd one Asus motherboard then definitely the next one needs to be rma'd too life is like that.
It's definitely probably doa.
A picture definitely would be helpful. Are you sure you plugged in the CPU power?

either this, ram, or mobo are the only ways it just wouldn't post

Computers still POST when RAM is faulty (three long beeps)
Take the motherboard out of the case and put it on a wood table. Only leave the RAM and CPU installed and the PSU connected (no video card) and try turning it on by shorting the PWR_ON jumper with a screwdriver and see if it does anything.
If you get a beep out of it, try installing the GPU next and see if that works.
