The video has not been verified but was being circulated by IS-affiliated social media accounts and bears all the hallmarks of previous IS productions. Using an NHS-style logo, it introduces the "ISHS" - or IS Health Service. It appears to have been filmed in Raqqa General Hospital in the Syrian IS stronghold of Raqqa. The first doctor in the video talks about the establishment of a health ministry that regulates medical facilities across IS territory, including the Raqqa hospital, which he says has been refurbished. A second doctor introduces the intensive care unit, which he says treats victims of military conflict and car accidents. A third speaks about the X-ray department, which includes a women-only unit. The Australian doctor, who calls himself Abu Yusuf, says he travelled from his home country to join IS and is using his medical skills "as part of my jihad for Islam".
ISIS is going to get public healthcare before the US.

I know how to pronounce "eye-sis" but how do you pronounce this? "is-hes"? "ishs"?
I know how to pronounce "eye-sis" but how do you pronounce this? "is-hes"? "ishs"?
Like "ish", but as a plural? Ish's? :v:
Hypothetical banner guy has high blood pressure, maybe he should tone down the religious fanaticism.
What the fuck ISIS...
the video in question [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] i knew the people who said obamacare is a muslim health conspiracy was 100% correct!!!
When watching this I can't help but think about the films that the Nazis made to make the camps look pretty. Reality is Hell, Reality in film is up to the creator
That Aussie doctor, he must have been brainwashed. Edit: or being held hostage and forced to do it
the video in question [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] i knew the people who said obamacare is a muslim health conspiracy was 100% correct!!!
god damn playing a nasheed while a doctor is making a patient do exercises incredible
When watching this I can't help but think about the films that the Nazis made to make the camps look pretty. Reality is Hell, Reality in film is up to the creator
They should start up a film industry. I want to see their equivalent of American Sniper.
I bet they stole that ambulance they used in the beginning.
I bet they stole that ambulance they used in the beginning.
Nope. It actually ran away from its hospital, snuck over the Turkish border into Syria and joined the jihad.
ISIS would be the last place I'd want to get medical care, except for Venezuela or Medieval England.
ISIS would be the last place I'd want to get medical care, except for Venezuela or Medieval England.
What about North Korea?
What about North Korea?
I have more faith in them than ISIS to be honest. North Korea isn't in the middle of a civil war for one.
Well this makes me curious - does Islam have any tenets which impede medicine?
I have more faith in them than ISIS to be honest. North Korea isn't in the middle of a civil war for one.
They never signed a true peace treaty with the South so technically they still are.
Nope. It actually ran away from its hospital, snuck over the Turkish border into Syria and joined the jihad.
Still not the first vehicle to join the jihad :v:
Well this makes me curious - does Islam have any tenets which impede medicine?
nope. but in islam it's important to pray to allah first. you can (and should) use modern medicine afterwards.
What the cameras didn't show was possible human experimentation happening in these facilities on their own people and "infidels"
I know how to pronounce "eye-sis" but how do you pronounce this? "is-hes"? "ishs"?
Pronounce the letters, just like the British NHS. So it's just ISHS.
so those 10 doctors that they executed were an attempt to reign in soaring healthcare costs?
Watch conservative politicians use this as ammo against public healthcare
Well this makes me curious - does Islam have any tenets which impede medicine?
From what I remember, there aren't that many tenets which impede medicine off the top of my head - even the prohibition against alcohol in general doesn't apply to alcohol based medicines. It is, however, forbidden to use alcohol in place of a medicine. Pure alcohol of any kind is absolutely forbidden in internal medications. It can be used however, in creams and for antiseptic purpose, etc. and if a form of alcohol is needed to be used in a formulation, which happens to have no other replacement, that too is acceptable. Islamic Fiqh however say that pharmacists should stock alternative medications that don't contain alcohol in primarily Islamic countries, as best as they can. Note that formulations where a form of alcohol is necessary are, as above, exempt here.
There's an important point to be made with this video: We HAVE to stick to the rules and regulations that we have ratified internationally and leave these facilities be. We can't bomb them. We can't raid them. We can't shoot at them. They are medical facilities in their entirety and, despite belonging to an unconventional force, must be treated as if they were the medical facilities of any other standing military force. We didn't sink German hospital-ships or bomb Korean medical camps (on-record, anyways), and we shouldn't start now.
Just get the IDF to do it instead
It's disturbing how true that rings, and incredibly sad.
I have more faith in them than ISIS to be honest. North Korea isn't in the middle of a civil war for one.
And to be fair, A dictatorship with "iron rule" can work fairly well when it's not busy starving its people
