Well, it seems that my old IDE harddrive died, a few hours ago, it started to make these clutching sounds, but it stopped for a while. Then it was going on again and I shutdown my PC, removed it, tried to start my PC again just to find out it isn't booting up and asking for a boot device. Now, I wonder why the fuck windows installed files on my IDE, when I installed it on my other SATA harddrive, but never the less, I've hooked the IDE back in and windows started.
Now my question is: How would I copy/restore the windows related system files/settings to the other harddrive, without having to reinstall everything. My guess is to put in the windows DVD and select the upgrade installation, though I'm not sure if it won't install stuff on the IDE again(though I can't find it under workplace).
Sorry for my grammar and typing style, but you'd be upset too if your PC crashes at midnight all out of a sudden.
Try acronis disk director or migrate easy. It's able to copy entire HDD's without the need of reinstallation.
Well I kinda fixed the problem by checking the IDE harddrive, one of the pins for the molex cable was deformed, no idea how this happened. After I fixed it, it seems to work, I can access the harddrive without any clutching.
