Hey AA, today marks the last day of the S-Chassis festival. I meant to post this early but never got around to it. For those who don't know, the S-Chassis festival is a celebration of Nissan's popular s-chassis produced from 1976-2002 and the cars that made it so. Specifically, the festival is a celebration of the Silvia S13/S14/S15 coupe widely known for its use in drifting, but all generations are welcome to join in the fun! The Cars: S10- Originally equipped with either a L18 or L20 inline 4 and produced from 1975 to 1979, the S10 Silvia (or 200SX in the states) was never as popular as its Toyota and Mazda counterparts. It has some interesting lines. S110- The next car to be graced with the Silvia name was the S110, which came with either a Z or F series inline 4 depending on the year and model. It was originally intended to have Nissan's version of the Wankel rotary engine, but it didn't work out. it was produced from 1979-1983 Some S110s were entered in the WRC, finishing 2nd at the 1983 New Zealand rally S12- Made from 1984-1988 and powered by the first versions of the CA18 engine, along with the F series. It came in a coupe, a 3-door notchback and a widebody "Gran Prix" version, of which only 50 were produced. S12s raced in the Japanese Super Silhouette series, with wild aero kits like the one above S13- The first of the Silvia's that really launched their popularity, the S13 was the first Silvia built with the widely popular SR20DET engine, as well as the CA18, and the horribly crappy KA24DE for the North American market. It was built from 1989-1994. The S13 Generation also included the 180SX hatchback sold in both Japan and the US. S14- This generation had a more rounded body, which wasn't exactly pretty, and led to sagging sales in markets other than Japan itself. Equipped with a newer, more powerful version of the SR20DET in Japan, the US got stuck with the old KA24DE. In 1996 Nissan gave the S14 a facelift, with a more aggressive front end. S15- The last of the Silvia's. Armed with a new 250hp SR20DET, or the 165hp non turbo SR20DE. Unfortunately the S15 never made it the the North American market. The new Silvia came in just two trims, Spec-S and the Spec-R. The dates for the festival are Jan 3 for S13 day, Jan 4 for S14 day, and Jan 5 for S15 day. So even though I'm posting this about two hours before its over, happy S15 day. That's it for this thread, feel free to post your favorite S-chassis pictures, discuss stuff, post rants and flame each other, and any other shit you might want to do.
