• Dell Inspiron 1526 Video going out after startup

I can get to BIOS, but I only have a few seconds. Sent it in once, and it started doing this. I'll try to get more details as you ask, otherwise it's not my laptop. Power on, Dell loading screen, video goes out, laptop stays on. Thanks!
Try hooking a regular CRT/LCD to your laptop and see if that works. I'm inclined to believe it's a small hardware problem rather than your video drivers, but it never hurts to check. If you manage to get in with another monitor hooked up, reinstall your drivers. Out of curiosity, if you repeatedly open and close the screen, does anything change? The pin contact which turns the screen on and off might be damaged or a bit sticky.
Odd. My sister's Dell had trouble before where the screen won't turn on at all. Try connecting it to an external monitor. If the screen works fine on the external monitor, then I'm almost sure that this is a problem with the motherboard. [editline]06:55PM[/editline] FFFUUUUU clocks.
Tried the monitor thing already, and I'll try the other thing.
