I hover between 79 and 82 wpm - mind you, English is not my first language.

I was two-finger typing until I joined Facepunch. After a few thousand posts I eventually ended up with my own flavour of touch typing

I type fucking weird too, left hand I use all my fingers to type and my right hand I use one finger for letters and my thumb for spacebar

I dislike these WPM tests because you can't just write whatever comes to mind, Its copying whatever is on screen, while i guess that's okay. Its just my personal opinion I also have a bowl of cereal blocking half my desk. Where i'd usually lay my arm while typing.

What kills it for me is they're not sentences that makes any sense. I'm pretty sure everybody in here would get a higher score if they actually had to type out a coherent sentence that flows well instead of random words.

well that's what makes it challenging i suppose, because it tests how fast you can adapt in real time to random information... though real sentences and what not would probably be a lot easier to follow because typing, like most behaviors takes on patterns so predictable patterns = better performance, that being said, imagine doing a typing test like this but with random letters as opposed to words, you'd probably be absolutely dog shite at it
