http://www.inet.se/kundvagn/visa/1611746/htpc-maxmod Is this a good HTPC build? The site is in swedish so here are the links on newegg: Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352019&Tpk=fractal%20design%20array%20r2 MoBo/CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157228 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233080 HDD: 2x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148681 I haven't set up a budget, but around (preferably less than) about $700, since that is the total cost of the rig I posted. What I'd like is: • Quite small case • Win7 Home Premium, preferably x64 • Ability to play 1080p without any problems • About 4TB of HDD • Optionally a Blu-ray drive I don't need a Blu-ray drive (or any drive for that matter) since I have a PS3 and can use one of my older dvd drives temporarily to install Win7, but it's always nice.
It looks fine, but I'd probably get a cheaper case.
Recommendations?
This should probably be fine. This would probably be the best PSU choice if the case you linked includes a PSU, which it does if my deciphering of the swedish was somewhat accurate. [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] The silver version's also 24 kroners cheaper if you don't mind silver. [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] This would be an option if you required more hard drive slots, I suppose. Again, the silver version is cheaper. [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Just generally speaking the case seemed to be costing a lot compared to the rest of your system, is all. There's nothing in particular wrong with it or anything. [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Also, this turns out the cheapest assuming you trust the PSU.
This should probably be fine.
I'm not very sure about this since you mount apparently mount the motherboard on top (outside) of the case. I found this and I think it looks great, what do you think? It includes a 150W PSU and costs ~122$ [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] And since the one you linked only costs about 30$ less, it seems like a good price I'll look up some things and see if I can find anything better
You need to make sure the case has enough 3.5" slots to accommodate your hard drives.
Yeah, I saw that it only has 2.5" slots so now I'm looking into the second Lian-Li you posted Only problem with a case that size is where to put it
Just throwing an idea out there. I used an old laptop with a bust screen at one point, The unit was small and fit with the TV perfectly and didn't make a load of noise. For storage I have a NAS hooked to the network. Keeps the noise and heat of hard drives out of the room.

Might want to get some desktop ram instead of laptop ram.
