A cancer-stricken British teenage girl has said she had been overwhelmed by messages of support from around the world after writing an online "Bucket List" of things she wanted to do before dying. Alice Pyne, 15, created an internet blog in which she described her fight against Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the white blood cells. "I've been fighting cancer for almost four years and now I know that the cancer is gaining on me and it doesn't look like I'm going to win this one," she wrote. For her list, the teenager took inspiration from the 2007 film "The Bucket List", in which two terminally ill men, played by Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, draw up a list of things they wish to do before they die. On her list, at the site www.alicepyne.blogspot.com, she has included making everyone sign up to be a bone marrow donor, swimmming with sharks, meeting boy band Take That and getting a purple iPad computer. Messages of support and offers of help quickly flooded her webpage and it became one of the most talked about subjects on microblogging site Twitter. "Oh dear and I thought that I was just doing a little blog for a few friends!" she wrote after her site attracted huge attention. "Thank you so much for all your lovely messages to me." Pyne, who lives with her family in the northwest English town of Ulverston, revealed the management of Take That had arranged for her to see the band after reading her blog. A group of local lawmakers have also joined forces with the Anthony Nolan blood cancer charity to encourage people to join its stem cell register.
Source: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8259743/cancer-stricken-british-girls-bucket-list-is-internet-hit
Aw :3: When it comes to it, people really aren't that heartless.
I'll announce to the world that I am dying, and that my last wish is to play Episode 3. Then I live happily ever after.
Does it have Kopi Luwak in it.
:3: Good on her, poor girl though, cancer is well... I think you can figure that one out.
I'll announce to the world that I am dying, and that my last wish is to play Episode 3. Then I live happily ever after.
Ep3 canceled.
It's sad that people have cancer. It makes it right to give them what they want and have fun with it while they can...
I've been fighting cancer for almost four years and now I know that the cancer is gaining on me and it doesn't look like I'm going to win this one," she wrote.
manly tears.
... iPad computer.
Ill forgive it just this once. Hope she manages to beat the cancer, if not, at least get to do some of those things on her list.
making everyone sign up to be a bone marrow donor
Hahaha! NO! You don't want my marrow because its too good (Saturated with many hallucination compounds). And I don't want a fucking spinal tap.
and getting a purple iPad computer.
:frog:
:frog:
Hey, go by this girl a purple ipad computer.
Anyway, I can't imagine how it would feel to know that you only have a certain time left. Especially when you're that young, and know that you won't experience all life has to offer.
Oh my god.. :smith: :saddowns:
She's going to meet them personally in the weekend, I think. :unsmith:
-Hey guys, this girl is dying, lets all show our support! -NO SHE SAID IPAD COMPUTER
-Hey guys, this girl is dying, lets all show our support! -NO SHE SAID IPAD COMPUTER
I'm just pointing out one little thing. yeah, she might deserve it, having cancer and all, but it's just kind of an abusing the fact that people are going to feel sorry for her and get her whatever she wants.

End of morbidness: It's her dieing few months and I'd want them to be as awesome as possible, swimming with sharks? Fuck yeah! Meeting my favorite band? Fuck yeah! Donating my bone marrow to somebody who needs it? Fuck yeah! A new computer? FUCK. YEAH!
What happens if I get her an Archeos 5? I mean, beggers can't be choosers.
Shes adorable! I love her hair
The iPad IS an ARM based COMPUTER. After you jailbreak it, it can run terminals, compilers, multiple operating systems(Android and other Linux variants), and programs written in most, if not all, current programming languages. All you smartasses think that you are acting smart, when in fact, you're not.
She actually looks rather cute :buddy: Although I do feel bad for her :saddowns:
I hope that some miracle happens and the cancer just goes away. I wish that people didn't have to deal with these diseases. I just wish that there was something that could be done...

I just wish that there was something that could be done...
Eh, I doubt it, I think it going to be a long, long time for cancer to be cured and it would still most likely be treated on a case by case basis.
I really wish I had the money so I could just fly out to where she lives and just give her the best time left she has left. It is just so heart wrenching that to be honest, I have to fight back the tears.

That applies to this girl, she deserves to enjoy whatever she possibly can, because there is the possibility that she will die.
Hey, go by this girl a purple ipad computer.
Maybe apple will be cool and produce her an ipad 2 with a purple painted back and front.
I would ask for Reggie Fils Aime to be the one who pulls my plug when I'm on life support, and as he does it he'll have to say "his body is ready."
One of my friends died of this disease around a month or two ago. It was only shortly after her 15th birthday :smith:
I am humbled by this read. Both by the fact that she most likely is dying, but also the care and support people around the globe show to a total stranger. It warms me. Her death won't be in vain because she helped pull out something good out of a lot of people. Bring a meme into this thread. Get some easy funnies by leeching of a dying girl.
