School officials called police May 31 after a package was found in a girls' bathroom. A deflated blow-up doll was later found inside the box. Tyell Morton, 18, was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony criminal mischief after he admitted to bringing the doll to school. He said it was meant to be a senior prank. The family's attorney, Robert Turner, said the charge is excessive. "It's interesting that had he gone to school with a gun, there would've been a lesser charge. It would've been a Class D felony with up to three years," he said. who decided on the charge? a soccer mom?
Wow what the fuck is he going to do, blow up the school?
Criminal Scum :smug:
Criminal mischief? What the fuck is that.
Wow this is one of the worst sentences for a non crime I've ever seen.
maybe they won't press any charges.. hopefully
What the fuck?
Misdemeanor and Felony Criminal Mischief Criminal mischief involves knowingly damaging the property of another or the joint property of the accused person and the alleged victim. Criminal mischief resulting in damage of less than $100 is a Class 3 misdemeanor, damage of $100 but less than $500 is a Class 2 misdemeanor, damage of $500 but less than $15,000 is a Class 4 felony, and damage of $15,000 or more is a Class 3 felony.
I fail to see how his prank made any damage to the school exceeding $500 bucks. Hell I don't see how he did even a single dollar of damage. How is this a felony criminal mischief? Talk about a ridiculous sentence. [editline]7th June 2011[/editline] Hell how is this even criminal? At most the kid should get suspended.
That's sickening.

Fuck humanity. Like, what the fuck, I can't comprehend this crap. Things like this make me so sad. /rant :psyduck:
No jokes allowed!
They thought it was a bomb because it was packaged. But that has nothing to do with Criminal mischief.
So then why the hell are they using criminal mischief as the preliminary charge? Fucking bullshit.
The family's attorney, Robert Turner, said the charge is excessive.
No fucking shit, Sherlock.
Wow what the fuck is he going to do, blow up the school?
Well, he was going to blow something up. The school just cut off the rest of his sentence and charged him for it. Maybe they were pissed off that he never really got the hang of synonyms and puns.
Wow what the FUCK He did absolutely NOTHING illegal, and now he's facing 8 years of jail? This is some bullshit
No jokes allowed!
Why, are you the guy in the OP?
I don't understand. Was it a blow up sex doll?
Only in Murica [sp](and maybe Britain)[/sp]
I don't understand. Was it a blow up sex doll?
Yep.
This reminds me of the time someone tapped a blow-up doll to the side of my school. Don't think they ever figured out who it was but it was damn funny.
There was a random package found in the bathroom, which could possibly be a bomb. When they opened it, it was a "blow up" doll.
Racists are behind it!
that would have been scary to be a young white girl in the bathroom i'm glad they locked up this criminal
This is wrong. Wrong and stupid. IT'S JUST A PRANK, not a bloody Columbine shooting. The sheer THOUGHT that a blow-up doll would carry a bigger sentence than a gun is enough to warrant a SEVERE case of forced medicinal re-education concerning the judge and jury. God, by this flawed logic I guess he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist for bringing in a nuclear explosive, but bring in a simple balloon and they'd make him fry.
Will be interesting to see the public reaction. So much for 'rally for sanity'.
Ugh, if he goes to prison, the world is officially fucked.
Think of the children!
Call it a long-shot, but I think there's some racism playing into this one.
He did blow SOMETHING up :smug:
I had a feeling that some sort of bias might be involved, be it racism or maybe even that the kid slept with the judge's daughter.
