I fail to see how his prank made any damage to the school exceeding $500 bucks. Hell I don't see how he did even a single dollar of damage. How is this a felony criminal mischief? Talk about a ridiculous sentence.

This reminds me of the time someone tapped a blow-up doll to the side of my school. Don't think they ever figured out who it was but it was damn funny.

This is wrong. Wrong and stupid. IT'S JUST A PRANK, not a bloody Columbine shooting. The sheer THOUGHT that a blow-up doll would carry a bigger sentence than a gun is enough to warrant a SEVERE case of forced medicinal re-education concerning the judge and jury.
God, by this flawed logic I guess he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist for bringing in a nuclear explosive, but bring in a simple balloon and they'd make him fry.
