Currently I am trying to launch the source program "Source Particle Benchmark" (link) on Windows 7, it requires me to use a batch file but it refuses to get past the loading screen and gives me a dump file that describes the error in the title, I do not think this is a source or compatibility problem because a person in this thread can launch it just fine and we are using the exact same program as well, I think this is instead a problem of access rights given to the program but I am not sure how to fix it. Would anyone have any clues on how to give the batch/program more access? Here are my findings from the thread above:

Got mine from gamefront as well. I'd suggest grabbing it if you're into making particle effects. The particles here have neat parameters I've never seen used elsewhere.
Hmm, that's the exact one I have but it still refuses to work. It gets to the intro then crashes and leaves a steam dump file. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] Here is the error I found in the dump file.
The thread tried to read or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Any ideas on how to fix it? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] I also tried running as an administrator, but that causes the program to search through System32 instead of the appropriate directory and gives the following error:
'hl2' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file
How would I go about giving the batch full access while also keeping it searching inside the proper directory? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] Nvm, I fixed the batch directory while running as administrator and it still gives me the virtual address error, does anyone have any solutions for this?
