• Inkscape help!

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a jam here. Recently I started using Inkscape to help me come up with designs for my lasercutter. For awhile I was getting away with using a few shortcuts coloring my svg images until I came across doing an octopus. I wanted the edges to be cut, but the inside lines to be etched. Normally I just change up the colors on the inside, but because it's one big inseparable picture, I'm not sure what to do. Here is an image of it below. As you can see, all of the lines are black. I would like the outside lines to be black, and the inside to be red. Any thoughts on how to do this? I'll post the image file if that'd be easier too. Thanks!
This isn't going to happen is it. Can someone tell what thread would help me the most with this?
Object>Fill & Stroke
Object>Fill & Stroke
Unfortunately that does all lines within the picture.
