• The poor spend all the money. Isn’t it obvious?
In a couple of weeks, the economy will be put right. Because at last cuts such as the “bedroom tax” and universal tax credit come in, so we’ll finally get some money back off the richest people in this country – the poor. Any glance at our society makes it obvious who’s run up all the debts; the poor, that’s who, swanning around in charity shop cardigans and galavanting on shopping expeditions like the women in Sex and the City, squealing “Hey let’s go to Poundland and buy a dishcloth”, in ways the rich can barely dream of.
Source: http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/the-poor-spend-all-the-money-isnt-it-obvious-8553643.html
swanning around in charity shop cardigans
The fuck are you doing insulting my Canary Yellow cardigan? This thing is ungodly warm and comfortable.
galavanting on shopping expeditions like the women in Sex and the City, squealing “Hey let’s go to Poundland and buy a dishcloth”, in ways the rich can barely dream of.
I about died from an aneurysm, that's one of the most unbelievably fucked up and disconnected statements from reality I have ever read in my life. This isn't news, it's a really shitty opinion.
At least they’re attacking the poor, though, who caused the mess in the first place. Because the banking system, as we know, was ruined by the residents of a tower block in Toxteth. In league with a woman from Sunderland on invalidity benefit with chronic back pain
This guy is a bastard.
so now they’re being turfed out of their house for having a spare room for their kids. That’ll teach them.
Twitter: @mrmarksteel
We're allowed to post editorials in here now?
We're allowed to post editorials in here now?
This one is exceptionally retarded, so it's more for humoristic purposes this one is allowed I believe.
I... I... reading this comment and then rereading the article brings to my attention its satire
This seems like a pretty obvious joke.
Do none of you realize this is satire I thought the painful obviousness would give it away but apparently not
Do none of you realize this is satire I thought the painful obviousness would give it away but apparently not
Just because it's obnoxious doesn't mean people will immediately think it's satire. I mean, there's people who have said worse and whole-heartedly meant it.
Just because it's obnoxious doesn't mean people will immediately think it's satire.
Quotes like this:
Because the banking system, as we know, was ruined by the residents of a tower block in Toxteth. In league with a woman from Sunderland on invalidity benefit with chronic back pain
make it pretty obvious. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline] Seriously people. He's kind of right. Being rich isn't that tough. Go to college to get a job with a good salary, spend less than someone below the poverty line, bank the majority of your salary, l2invest. Congratulations you are now a millionaire. People don't usually do this though because they have damn no self control and spend all of their money instead of save like they should.
It's been a long while since I've actually seen genuine satire. It's rarer than a white tiger.

Psst: getting a degree doesn't guarantee you a job, and this is why many students are being told to put in work early. It's the biggest media fueled lie sold to young impressionable people that going to college is just an extension of the school life and you can have a fun time and party and you're guaranteed megabucks when you leave as long as you have a degree. Of my friends who went to university, only one of them has a job related to his study now and thats because he put in the work making connections while he was there. The rest of them are whining about how unfair it is that they have to now put in work at average joe jobs that they though they were above. Which is kind of funny, since these are the same people who used to cop an elitist attitude to the friends who had left school to go into a trade/apprenticeship - which in the current climate is a very smart move.
We're allowed to post editorials in here now?
Max posted a heavy biased blog post, so I guess so
This one is exceptionally retarded, so it's more for humoristic purposes this one is allowed I believe.
I would still prefer if we didn't post stuff like this. It's just an excuse to rag on the writer for not agreeing with whatever viewpoint they're objecting to (I know this is satire, but the point stands).
It’s a tricky argument to pull off, that the poor caused the debt so they should pay it back.
:suicide: I know radical Libertarians, Anarcho-Capitalists and Redneck conservatives who would never say something like that.

Even getting to college is a struggle for certain people, it then does not guarantee a job, or even a well paid one - often the degree is the means to getting the chance to go to an interview, from then on your degree is as good as any scrap of paper. Spending less does not make someone rich - it just means they have more cash. Investing is not a means to becoming a millionaire, the money made by investors is a small percentage of the capital they invest, it would be hard to become a millionaire by investing unless you were risking a lot of your saved up earnings.
Psst: getting a degree doesn't guarantee you a job, and this is why many students are being told to put in work early.
protip: learn about the job market you want to get into before you decide your career
Go to college to get a job with a good salary
gee thanks
protip: learn about the job market you want to get into before you decide your career
Even that isn't going to gain you megabux straight away. I know the job market for what I am studying is currently undergoing a massive increase, and by the time my degree is over it may well be saturated. The jobs I am likely to land, even within my fields of study aren't exactly high paying either. But I love the subject so fuck it all. So knowing your career path, the job market for it, and going to college/ uni still don't guarantee success. Actually getting dolla from pure effort alone is not easy. It's much easier to play the system like all the big CEOs do right now, or hope on the investment wagon if you already have more money than you know what to do with.
protip: learn about the job market you want to get into before you decide your career
protip, unless you're actually a millionaire, don't give out advice on how to become a millionaire as if you know what you're talking about.

To anyone who do not understand why this has to be absurdist humor, take a quick glance:

You've gone from saying "its easy to be rich" to "its easy to find job with good job security" Make up your fucking mind and stop backpedaling. Technological innovation? Easy?
