• Never built a computer before, any tips/things to avoid?

So I'm building a PC for the first time ever, I've ordered all the components and they should arrive tomorrow. Do you have any useful tips or things to avoid while building it? Also share any good guides you've found if you can. Thanks.
Never let your rabbit(if you have one) run around inside your room while you're building your computer. It'll chew your wiring to shit.
Before touching anything components, you should always touch the case to ground yourself. It's not that hard, just read the instructions given with the components, look at a few guides that are on the internet, and post here if you have any problems.

Honestly everything goes where it looks like it goes. Everything is labeled and colour coded and it's EXTREMELY hard to screw things up unless you're trying to force something in and it breaks. Just make sure you've got standoffs in the case before you put the motherboard in, ground yourself, don't plug in the power until you're completely done in the case, etc etc.

You're probably not going to break it.
be really careful in placing the cpu in, it has to go straight vertically downwards, not angled at all
Configure your case fans properly, proper airflow makes a world of difference to cpu/gpu temps and will prolong their operational life. The fans on the front of your case should draw cool air in, similarly fans on the back and top of your case should push hot air out.
Just thought I'd post here to say how it's gone. All the components arrived in one piece and on time. I started late in the day so I didn't have time to finish it, but I got all the core components setup properly and it booted! I was SO happy, after being extremely cautious and paranoid about breaking something. So then I installed it in the case and all I have to do now is install the hard drive, DVD drive and the case fans/power button/USB etc, then spend an hour or so doing all the software. Thanks guys! He's from the UK, different prices, no point asking.
