I don't know how to categorize this post, it's half way creative art, and half-way political, etc... So I think this belong in the right place to put this.

Pawel Kuczynski, a Polish artist has worked in satirical illustration specialising in thought-provoking images that make his audience question their everyday lives.
His subjects deal with everything from poverty to social media and politics. All of them have a very distinct message if you look closely enough…
BREAKING NEWS: ARTISTS MAKE ART. COVERAGE WILL CONTINUE AS DETAILS EMERGE
"Now Jim, it looks like we're seeing a line of suited men, at podiums, being deposited by a garbage truck. Could this somehow be a veiled jab at politicians?"
"It's entirely possible, Maurice. Now, it may be too early to speculate, but these works do appear to be the product of a lot of un-worked-out angst..."
"Hold on a second there Jim, this just in: Apparently, the 'cat defacating into a mouse's grave' does appear to be critical of modern society, obviously there's been a lot of controversy about that one."

did somebody already posted this? i understand the date is on the 2nd of july and i'm 12 days late on it, but I don't see any topics here on facepunch saying the same thing.
I knew this would be about Pawel Kuczynski. Great artist. He shows up on my Tumblr dashboard about once a week.
A lot of these are extremely contrived and simplistic.
I wish I had the word to describe exactly how I felt. It hurt me to see the man by the fire. He could be climbing, working to better himself and his position/status in the world. But he is okay with merely surviving the night by dismantling his route to greatness. He's probably been making that fire a couple days. Thinking, "Oh I can make it out tomorrow, I still got some steps from the ladder i can make into a fire and be comfortable tonight instead of waking up actually doing something ."
I don't want to be the guy by the fire anymore
That was one of the comment that i've read a moment ago, and I kinda agree with this representation.

I mean, most of these drawings have been on the Internet for years. I'm sure pretty much everyone has come across them at some point via mail, Facebook or Tumblr

This is all new to me, and I didn't really see anybody saying anything about his art, so I took it as new and decided to make a thread about it here on facepunch to get what everyone's opinion about the political messages that are coming out of his artwork.

politicians bad!
technology bad!
brown people do menial work for white people!
Money is also bad!
I've never seen art depict high school political angst so accurately. Truly stunning - any one of these pieces could be a fanart album cover for Pink Floyd's "Animals."

The political messages that he is sending seems more and more in line of the current depressing states of affairs that we live in our modern day society, when I look at his artwork, it remind me of the great depression artwork that I've seen in the past... each of these messages shows the current bad state of affairs that I've always been hearing about, from my father, from here on facepunch, and sometimes on facebook itself.

This picture represents the middle east political state of affairs, when one dictator been took down, another rises on it's place... almost like when you killed the godfather of the mafia, someone else will be the elected as the next godfather and could do worse, nothing will change and everything that been fought for has no meaning in the future, it's another person who wants power in his/her life.

This represents how most of the politics that are always on media shows that what say to get elected is nothing more then bullshit just to get into political office and start your own "reign of terror", after hearing so much of corruption and how the politicians are not serving the people and only when into office for the money and bribes, everyone starts to see that every politician that we heard of so far speaks nothing more then bullshit and shitty excuses, and other lies that are rendered useless.

But it's messages everyone knows, plays on, parodies, satires, and repeats.

- War and deaths from war are at an all time low
- Infant mortality is at an all time low
- Illiteracy is at an all time low
- Developing nations are curbing population growth and forming new, booming industrial sectors
- The information age is ramping up to become the most influential era in human history
- The average person in all developed nations has immediate access to the entire breadth of human knowledge
The "current depressing state of affairs?" Bitch, you're living in the greatest golden age humanity has ever seen and you don't know about it because you believe everything you read.
The fact that you're currently participating in a discussion with people all over the world on a magical electronic forum should clue you into the fact that we are living in the future.

My thoughts exactly. Now I'm going to happily enjoy my internet, free porn, huge list of video games, and delicious soda my family can actually afford, while sitting in my cozy messy room, in a nice house, in a sorta nice neighborhood in the beautiful city of Chicago.
Hell tomorrow me and my pop might take a bike ride along the lakefront!

I don't really totally believe it when I read it... I know action speaks louder then words, and these pictures speaks a political message, but like a famous saying goes "a picture speaks a thousand words". I am happy to see certain state of affairs like gay marriage and the legalization of weed is becoming more successful and people been fighting for it, however the opposite is happening as people fight against gay marriage because of their religious beliefs... then you start hearing the depressing words that "we are heading to the age where society has decayed and start to worship money and celebrities then society as a whole" echoing though very resistance families, my family as well.
Guys, if you want an argument, take it to Mass Debate, please.
I've never seen these before, but my reaction wasn't much beyond "that's kinda clever".
It's just repetition of what everyone already says, it feels like.

I agree, i don't want to derail this thread that could be going back and forth over catagory.

...You really have no historical perspective at all, do you?
Sixty years ago, in Engand, if you were caught being gay, you would be arrested, taken to court, and either chemically castrated or imprisoned.
- War and deaths from war are at an all time low

And yet there are more refugees today than at any time since WW2...

Most comment suicide as well during that time.
And yet there are more refugees today than at any time since WW2...
There are also a little less than four times as many people as there were during WW2, and lots and lots of them are born in undeveloped nations which still experience conflict.

This one's definitely my favorite of the bunch.
It's not really some sort of jab at society or edgy or anything. It's probably the best metaphor for alcoholism I've ever seen. Whenever I see this one I imagine my mouth getting caught by a hook and it really hits me hard.
Some of the political ones are interesting too. Most of them are just creative analogies, but they're different from the usual ones and they kind of give you a new perspective.

Says who?
Seriously source that opinion mate.
Heavy-handed, linear symbolism is on my top 100 list of hated things.

Yes, we get it, humans value some animals as pets and some as food. Where have you been for the last thousand years of humanity.
