UNITED NATIONS/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korea said on Saturday firing its rockets at the U.S. mainland was “inevitable” after U.S. President Donald Trump called Pyongyang’s leader “rocket man”, in a further escalation of rhetoric between the two countries over the North’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program.
North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho’s remarks before the United Nations General Assembly came hours after U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers escorted by fighter jets flew in international airspace over waters east of North Korea in a show of force the Pentagon said demonstrated the range of military options available to Trump.
Ri’s speech capped a week of escalating rhetoric between Washington and Pyongyang, with Trump and Kim Jong Un trading insults. Trump called the North Korean leader a “madman” on Friday, a day after Kim dubbed him a “mentally deranged U.S. dotard.”
On Saturday, the mudslinging continued with Ri calling Trump “a mentally deranged person full of megalomania and complacency” who is trying to turn the United Nations into a “gangsters’ nest”. Ri retorted that Trump himself was on a “suicide mission” after the U.S. president said Kim was on such a mission.
”‘President Evil’ is holding the seat of the U.S.
President,” Ri said, warning that Pyongyang was ready to defend itself if the United States showed any sign of conducting a “decapitating operation on our headquarters or military attack against our country”.
“Now we are finally only a few steps away from the final gate of completion of the state nuclear force,” Ri told the annual gathering of world leaders.
He said sanctions would have no effect on Pyongyang’s resolve to develop its nuclear weapons, with the ultimate goal being “balance of power with the U.S.”
I've been listening to this speech for a while now. North Korea is pulling the victim card hardcore.

I mean there is extremely good news that China Has basically called it quits and blocked their banks from doing buisness with North Korea., but Russia probably still helping it's ally.
Kim is never going to strike first unless you make him feel like he's in a corner. As the dominant power, the US needs to stop this needless escalation. Flying jets over international waters near Korea is one of the most retarded things you could do.

We should continuously ignore the publishing of videos were America burns from nuclear warfare and just let them develop nuclear weapons.

With China out of the way, we pretty much averted WW3, note there is a chance of a korean conflict but it probably won't be as big.

Way I see it; US aren't to blame for escalating this, North Korea are, and the US has to follow and put pressure on North Korea to stop this madness before it's too late. The US needs to make sure that North Korea understands that whatever they're about to do, it's a horrible mistake.

Trump just threatened to destroy North Korea at the UN and he openly ponders the idea of regime change on twitter. He's just as much a factor in this as Kim is.

the thing is, trump would have to act like a responsible adult diplomat for that to happen...

I'm not talking about Trump and whatever shit comes out of his mouth, I'm talking about embargoes, military presence and that kind of stuff. I assumed that's what you were talking about in your original post.

If that's legit, that really IS extremely good news. Here's hoping that China's more eager to cooperate given the circumstances.
well if rockets start flying US/NATO allies way both Russia and China want to
'not know or be associated with NK' because one could consider that aiding enemy

IIRC China already outright said that if NK strikes first they absolutely will not help them. I assume the same goes for Russia.
The absolute worst decision NK can make is striking first; if they wait to be attacked they have up to two very powerful allies that could very well cause a repeat of the first Korean war. Not to mention it's unlikely for NATO to strike first anyway because of that. If they strike first, the best they can hope for is hitting a South Korean or Japanese city before their entire country is glassed.
So in a way, North Korea making the first move would be the ideal situation. Though even then, it would be far from ideal, since if they strike first someone's gonna have to take that punch to the jaw.

This is why we should send them a fruit basket. With a tiny little man with a letter of condemnation hidden inside it.
[editline]23rd September 2017[/editline]
They'll feel very silly then.
[editline]23rd September 2017[/editline]
That's when you drop a MIRV strike on the communistic little bastards.
is it dumb to feel that these are just empty words that have came over, and over, and over again from NK
they won't strike first, they just don't have the mass to do this and they know this, China nor SK wants this because we all know the US military will literally wipe NK empty and that won't be okay
Is this post sarcastic?
This whole fiasco started with Trump poking a cornered and starving NK. The escalations started and continued with Trumps bullshiterry.
NK being cockweasels, threatening war, and launching missiles into the ocean isn't anything new. In the past it was handled diplomatically and the situation descalated. Hell, NK has killed South Koreans before on mistake and it was always handled diplomatically. Trump takes his immature diplomacy to twitter and threatens NK openly. Its his fault we're in this mess.
The time to take out NK was decades ago, now that they have ICBMs that can reach allied countries and potentially have nuclear capabilities, its foolish to attack them. Trump openly provoking a nuclear power and threatening its destruction, especially one as volatile as NK, is fucking retarded.

NK has been posting bullshit videos like that since digital video distribution has been a thing. They released one during Obama's presidency with footage stolen from COD:MW2. Did Obama take to twitter and threaten NK for it like a child?

If NK strikes first, it will be on a major city where literal millions will die. Whether it be in Seoul, mainland US, or a pacific island. There is nothing ideal here.
so who got it from who ?

There's no way China would be dumb enough to get involved in the same way as they did in the 50s.

Uuuhhh...it's international waters...we have every right to fly whatever aircraft we damn well please in the airspace above them.
You'd have a point if we were telling these aircraft to fly through North Korean airspace. But we aren't.

Yeah, and it's a show of intimidation that needlessly escalates the situation. Read the article, please.

Not necessarily. They quite enjoy using NK as a buffer zone between them and US allies.

No shit we have the right to do it but that doesn't make it any less dumb. Do you think the US sailing carrier fleets into international waters off contentious zones is anything but a show of force?
Constantly provoking NK is the reasom they're actively threatening to attack us, and flying bombers off their coasts isnt helping.
Russia has every right to place all its ballistic missile submarines 13 miles off Long Island. Rights don't make smart.
Flying big bombers around North Korea is a show of force, and is pretty ineffective as demonstrated. That bomber is the biggest, clearest way to communicate the message of "You were right, This is why you need nukes" to North Korea. It doesn't help.
I'm kinda coming around the point of my previous posts, it wasn't very thoughtful it seems. Do you think there's a point at which we can tell that there's inevitably gonna be a war in some shape or form of military conflict be it nuclear weapons being launched or more traditional(/modern?) combat?
