5850 or a 5770
^
Too bad your motherboard and CPU arent AMD then you can get AMD Overdrive with an ATi card
Wow i didn't expect such a quick response.
The local computer shop down the street specalize in building computers so I'll pay them a visit tomorrow and see if i can pick up a better computer.
What? No.....Don't buy a better computer just for a piece of software for overclocking..... especially from a local computer shop, those guys are usually expensive....just get a 5850 like ~Kiwi~ said....

Agreed.
I bet they would charge 1.5 times the price for building your computer. Try building it yourself--adding a video card is not very hard.

If you don't want to spend that much on a 5850 I suggest a 5750.

Stop with that crap.
If you don't want to spend that much on a 5850 I suggest a 5770.

The 5750 isn't that far behind a 5770 and it is cheaper.

If you really want to spend $15 for 10 frames go ahead.

Go with the 5770. It's a fantastic card, use the leftover money on an extra monitor.
Go with the 5770. It's a fantastic card, use the leftover money on an extra monitor.
I personally think having 2 monitors is useless.
5850 is a great card.
Excuse me... But I would love 10 frames for 15 dollars... that's $1.10 a frame!
In all seriousness, If he can afford to get the 5750, he can get the 5770
Using any spare money grab a decent power-supply. Anything of a good brand, with at least 500W will have enough Amps on the 12v rail to power any of those 2 cards.
Your PSU probably can't handle it seeing it's a Dell.
I personally think having 2 monitors is useless.
Get 3 monitors because otherwise the crosshairs are right in the middle of the gap between the screen.
Sorry for bumping this thread, I'm going to start buying the card and such seeing as my birthday is coming up and I'll have more money to put towards the computer.
My price range is about £150-£180
You'll have to name the full graphic card like "Radeon 92348792384732894" because I really have no clue whatsoever.
Sorry :bang:
Get a 4870.

Or a 5770:

The 4870 performs better in Crysis than the 5770 but is much cheaper, but the 5770 is DirectX 11 compatible. You can use the extra money to buy a game.

hahahaha
good one
you should use it at parties
That's the site he used in the OP and I don't know of any UK sites.
Tigerdirect has a UK version, one second.

You can actually afford a 5830 with your budget if you're not including VAT. But I assume you are, so:

A 5770 will run all games out right now pretty well.
But the play.com 4870 actually looks like a good deal judging by how much one costs at misco.

This hurts my brain :(

... What?
AMD Overdrive is for the CPU and GPU, not the motherboard plus AMB doesn't make motherboards.
A 5770 would be perfect for pretty much all games out at the moment. Mine is and I am loving it, runs pretty much all games on max~ that I own and I'd recommend it to anybody who isn't going to go insane about not running every game possible on top settings. Great card.
Or something like a 4870 if it's a great deal cheaper but I like the ability to use DX11 in dirt 2 and BFBC2 and such so I prefer the 5770

$70 for that power supply is a bit over priced you can get a 600-700 watt for around that much.

I'm in the uk, I've got a voucher for £20 off so I'll buy that.
You should get more than 400 Watts. Get 500w or more.
I have a antec 520w from newegg and its perfect for the 5770 (which i also own)
