Bans here are usually temporary, bans on most other forums are permanent. That's why we have more, they aint such a big deal.

You should see Ultimate-Guitar they do more perma's than anything

the thing is that yeah people get banned for lots of different shit here but we don't permaban nearly as much as other forums i've been to some other forums and it's like you get perma'd on a first or second offense

Go back in time to 2007. You would get banned for making this thread back then. As would everyone that responded.

I'd laugh if OP gets banned for this thread. Anyways, as said before, it was hell in the earlier days of the forums. I'm kinda glad it's not like that anymore.

Yep. I have no power in this section but the bans aren't really punishments, so much as warnings and slaps on the wrist. If you do something wrong, we take the forum away from you for a day or whatever and you understand that what you did is bad. if you CONTINUE doing that then you might be in bigger trouble. And for future reference here: cliffhanger thread title, useless/fast question thread. but yes, back in the day you could get banned at the drop of a hat, though still for one reason or another. Even I had a ban record, including a perma.
