Hi, i had a question, i gonna buy the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black edition CPU, and i have the ALiveXFire-eSATA2 motherboard.
On the site of my motherboard i can't find if it support AM3, but in the supported CPU list is the Phenom II x4 955 noticed, somebody that can help me out?
By the way, here's the webpage : http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=alivexfire-esata2
It works, it's AM2+ which supports AM3 processors.
It may need a BIOS update to support an AM3 CPU.
It'll work, but make sure you update the BIOS, too.
Ok great, my father can do bios things.
Thanks for the fast help :) i asked it on a dutch forum but i already waited 1 day for reaction...
...I wonder whether you've got another CPU so you can actually do the reflash.

You can usually enter the BIOS even though your CPU isn't supported (I have done it a few times before), it will just say "Unknown CPU" in the BIOS and crash under load, but it is stable/safe enough for the user to flash the BIOS.
