• Is anyone buying the AMD R9 290X

This bad boy is apparently better than the GTX 780 and Titan. I am going to buy this car, is anyone else going to buy it? It's very cheap, about 800 dollars including BF4
What kind of specific scenario would you use a R9 290X for? A common resolution for gaming is 1080p. For that resolution a GTX 770/HD 7970 would be more than enough. I don't recommend the R9 290X. The reference cooler is extremely loud and has a tough time keeping the card cool. All 290X's will only come with reference coolers. If you're in the budget for a R9 290X then get a GTX 780 instead. The cooling on that is significantly better and the gaming performance is pretty much equal. If someone has the dosh to buy a 290x, then it's probably not a stretch to get a way better aftermarket cooler for the card and install it themselves. But this guy is clearly trollin' so it's irrelevant.
Just going to throw this right here: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/10/29/gtx-780-and-770-get-price-drop-in-wake-of-amd-290x-release-780-ti-gets-release-date/ Get a 770 while you can.

Personally I am considering buying one with the Direct CU TOP/Twin Frozr once they are out.
Get a 770 while you can.
Why? The R9 280X is $50 cheaper and faster according to a lot of benchmarks.
