After marching to APD headquarters and the Civic Plaza, protesters started marching east on Central, which according to the protest organizer, was not part of the plan. Officers then showed up at Central and Yale in riot gear and protesters approached them, some yelling at other protesters to keep things peaceful. The protesters blocked both lanes on Central, backing up traffic Sunday afternoon. After walking east for a while, they turned back west on Central and, at one point, protesters also attempted to enter the I-25 northound offramp at Central. Several people dressed up for the protest with painted faces and posters in hand, many of them yelling, “Hey hey, ho ho, killer cops have got to go.”
Source: http://krqe.com/2014/03/30/second-prostest-against-apd-calls-for-justice/ http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kbacoccini http://new.livestream.com/accounts/7693318/events/2872249

looks like a pretty weak protest. half the people in that picture look like they're there just to take photos
The police keep repeating that it's an unlawful assembly, but it looks like most people are staying put. Riot police have gas masks.

Hey, an update since I attend UNM, the protesters have recently been tear gassed around UNM, prompting them to send out an emergency warning for all the students.
looks like a pretty weak protest. half the people in that picture look like they're there just to take photos
It's difficult times we live in, that's why they started paying tourists to do the protesting for them
And as all things, this must pass.
I saw a video recently of the APD shooting a homeless guy camping or something like that, so right on for the protesters
I saw a video recently of the APD shooting a homeless guy camping or something like that, so right on for the protesters
That's what this protest spawned from, along with APD's previous demonstrations of their willingness to kill people.
The assembly is unlawful if they're protesting outside where they reported they would protest. As the article says they did.
After marching to APD headquarters and the Civic Plaza, protesters started marching east on Central, which according to the protest organizer, was not part of the plan. Officers then showed up at Central and Yale in riot gear and protesters approached them, some yelling at other protesters to keep things peaceful.
When they were by APD HQ, they were lawful. When they left there for other places, they became an unlawful assembly.
