Okey, so after a little help from this section, I got help choosing a new SSD and a CPU cooler: https://www.komplett.no/k/shoplist.aspx?mode=edit&ShoppingListId=1110932 I was wondering if getting some more RAM would be good, as I find myself using close to 8GB while playing Minecraft edit: Playing Minecraft with SEUS my specs:
...but I can't see why this: Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Sustained Sequential Read: Up to 500 MB/s (SATA 6Gb/s) Sustained Sequential Write: Up to 175 MB/s (SATA 6Gb/s) 4KB Random Read: Up to 45,000 IOPS 4KB Random Write: Up to 35,000 IOPS Beats, this: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Sustained Sequential Read: Up to 560 MB/s Sustained Sequential Write: Up to 430 MB/s 4KB Random Read: Up to 90,000 IOPS 4KB Random Write: Up to 85,000 IOPS
The ocz may be faster in some areas and in impractical benchmarks, where it lacks is in quality control and reliability. Get the m4.
What exactly does "quality control and reliability" means? And how about the first SSD i linked? The Samsung one, I was told it was the best black SSD (Fits my case best, even tough it gonna be hidden away in the Hard drive bay things).
The have a higher failure rate than the others. The samsung 830 is a great ssd too, i would rate the m4 on the same level. If you have the extra cash, get the intel 520.
What happen if it fails? Is it dead or is it timing out for a while?
What happen if it fails? Is it dead or is it timing out for a while?
What happens when a hard disk fails? It's generally dead. [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] Just get the more m4/830. You won't notice the speed difference anyway.
Okey, so 830 over m4? I do have the money. And would you recommend more memory (read the first post)
They are the same. Get the m4 to save money, or the samsung to match your case. Memory is pretty cheap right now, if you are actually filling up the 8gb, then upgrade, if not, don't upgrade.
Ohh, I meant the Intel 820.. is it better than m4? :) It's only 100NOK (16,8$) more ...or did u mean the samsung in some posts above
You mean 520? In my opinion, yes, it's the most reliable.
the 520 only got: 4KB Random Read: Up to 25,000 IOPS 4KB Random Write: Up to 40,000 IOPS Isn't that "bad"
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-520-sandforce-review-benchmark,3124-4.html They are on par on most drives, but a bit slower. They are the most reliable drive. You won't notice the speed difference anyway.
Thanks fot that link, I think I'll stick to the samsung 830, but what is this "RAW" all about? The samsung one didn't come up with that impressive numbers.
You're worrying too much. The 830 is a great ssd, and will serve you well.
okey, thanks! :)
ohh, was about to order when I was thinking about thermal paste. Any recommendation?
The cooler comes with it, thermal paste is thermal paste you won't notice a difference.
okey, thanks :)
I have ordered the SSD, and the CPU cooler. It's to late now, but i see this "OEM" version, which is a lot more cheaper! Should I pick the OEM version next time I buy something?
Depends. The oem ssd wont come with brackets, cables, etc.
Ahh, but is this cable: " Serial ATA-600", that comes with it, 90 degrees end? if not, cable is cables. And I just buy one that isn't? edit: Wait, that's just the cable name, not the "model" name? o.o
