The girl, who has not been named, was sitting on the platform of the roundabout at Otepuni playground while other children whirled it around on June 24. Her hair got caught in the machinery, pulling her head so tightly that large chunks of her hair ripped out at the roots and her skull fractured, The Southland Times reported. She was rushed to hospital with blood coming out of an ear and still suffered from hearing loss. It was not known whether her hair will grow back. The council had removed the at least 25-year-old roundabout plus similar amusements around the city's playgrounds and were meeting today to review the situation.
http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/7520342/girl-scalped-by-roundabout/ Edit: It's like a merry-go-round but the kind you have to push yourself, not at an amusement park kind of merry-go-round.
I'm assuming that in this case a roundabout isn't the thing you drive through?
Ouch.
Merry-go-round?
What a hairy situation. Oh I'm so bad at news puns.
I think this just might be my masterpiece.

Must have been a hairy situation.
I'm assuming that in this case a roundabout isn't the thing you drive through?
They mean a merry-go-round.
Poor girl :frown: That one accident/incident will probably impact her for the rest of her life in a negative way.
I'm assuming that in this case a roundabout isn't the thing you drive through?
-snip-

Ferris Wheels are the big wheels.
I thought they meant a road roundabout and I was like :wtc:
That ride really pulled her attention
Speaking of scalping... Once there was this girl in my wood shop class using the lathe. Her hair got pulled in and ripped this huge chunk of hair out.
These are still legal!? Won't somebody think of the children!?
When i read the thread i thought she was scalped while going in a round a bout.
That poor girl is probably going to be bullied for the rest of her life for being bald too.
I love these things, I'd hate her if she got these taken out of my park!
This is just like fireworks. One kid gets hurt by one they think EVERY kid will get hurt by one.
Oh god that's sickening.
That's just sick. Makes me feel really bad inside. God damn she's just a child. Ughhhhh. The image has killed me a little.
Yes, that's what I said. They're called merry-go-rounds here.
merry-go-rounds have horses on them man.
merry-go-rounds have horses on them man.
No, that's one of those other things. Damnit why can't everybody call it one name like a circular spinning device.
