Today i was upgrading my Black Macbook to Snow Leopard and now it is stuck at Time Remaining About 45 Minutes, it has been like this for about 6 hours. Anyone else having this problem or is my Laptop screwed :frown:
Many people appear to be having issues with Snow Leopard, it'd likely be worth waiting it out unless you have a fresh install anyway, however this suggestion appears to be too late for you. Photo of the install log errors, found under Window > Install Log may help. Personally, I used the SL disc included with my Unibody Macbook Pro yesterday to upgrade fresh out of the box and it went fine as it was a clean install anyway (shame I couldn't fresh install to SL though really). Good luck, though.
.
Perhaps too broad a statement in hindsight. I can't really remember so much fuss at the Leopard launch, though I might be wrong. There are certainly a number of people having issues though, a quick look at the Apple SL support forums illustrates that.

there was a similar problem a few people were having with leopard the first time (when they had a blank blue screen) and it was because of incompatible kernel extensions I just format and install tbh
Open the Log and see what's happening. It's the plain Installer, you should be able to do so. [editline]04:32PM[/editline]
.
happens on every OS, mister resident apple hater
Ok i just restarted and the installation continued lol
except windows 7 and most linux.
Prove it. Where's the hullaballo being raised about SL imploding your system? Where's everyone agreeing that Linux upgrades are always hitch-free?

but Snow Leopard is an upgrade according to Apple so people will assume to "upgrade" rather then do a fresh install. I did that on my dad's iMac and my mom's MacBook with without doing a fresh install and there were no problems. I guess some people are either fucking up or there are some bad disks out there, my friend had to return his disk for a new one since it wasn't recognized at all.

meh. i wouldnt do a "upgrade" if i had a mac. or on any OS.
Different strokes, I suppose. ...but that might be because everything comes to Thailand at least a week late

I can just imagine the shitstorm if this was Windows 7 that just had been released.
I agree.
