The information was requested under Operation Elveden, Scotland Yard's inquiry into alleged payments to public officials in return for information. Vodafone blamed human error; the Met said the excess data was sent back. News UK, formerly known as News International, is part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. Information was sought about the mobile phone data of one journalist working for the firm during 2005-07, using powers under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA). But Vodafone sent more than 1,000 numbers to the police in March and the force informed Vodafone and the Interception of Communications Commissioner's Office about the error on 27 June.
Vodafone is just a shit company all round, shit phone signal, shit peripherals. shit backend systems. I felt sorry for the customers who I helped when I was a CCA for Vodafone, knowing how much shit they have to go through, hell, even with a employee discount I still didn't want to go with them knowing just how awful they were.

Everyone at my school complains they can't get
Everyone at my school complains they can't get
I am in the same boat as them, I can never get
Thought they swamped them in data at first but this is just dumb.
I was hoping they swamped them. I love the idea of a phone company responding to a subpoena by handing over terabytes of useless data.
