• Problems w/ gigabit ethernet

So I have an asus a7n8x deluxe, which I'd like use for NAS, but the gigabit port is either stubborn or brokeded :saddowns:. I can set my main computer at 1Gb full duplex. In xp, the asus only has a 1000dword option... it said it was auto-negotiate too (i think). I installed 7 and now it only says full auto-negotion. In any case it just doesn't want to work past 100Mbps. This is unacceptable. I've also successfully set up a 1Gb connection between my laptop and main computer so I know it works. ALSO these are just direct connections. I've tried with regular and crossover(although useless) cables.
You running the latest chipset drivers on the A7N8X?
Yeah. Nvidia came out with their last drivers in 2004. Now that I have 7 installed, it's installed it own driver that's dated 2006. neither work. i read somewhere that this nic might've come out before the official standards for gigabit were released.
