Heavy rain, floods and slips causes evacuations in the Wellington Region, New Zealand

I'm just really fucking glad I'm living in an elevated area, I've got a mate visiting from AUS having to prolong meetups due to the lack of transport, my work manager is unable to come into work today and tomorrow and some friends have had their homes flooded up to bed height.

I'm sat in the CBD right now, and it's fine. I've seen some crazy scenes from porirua though and apparently a lot of transport is out.
