Hey, I've been looking for new earbuds since I'm back in school. I was looking at These since they're $12 with a promo code. Are those decent for use on a bus? I'm not looking for audiophile quality, just something that are better than the Samsung ones that came with my phone and ones that block out some exterior noise so I don't go deaf turning it up.
Not really. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] If you're looking for cheap ones, the Phillips no-name £15 ones decent. Otherwise spring for these http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MK-II-Earbuds-Carrying/dp/B001EZYMF4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327166946&sr=8-2 [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] Alternatively http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-HAFX1X-Xtreme-Xplosives-Headphones/dp/B004S7Q8CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327166916&sr=8-1

I was looking at these since my brother has a pair, and the tangle-resistant wire is a good touch. I have the Phillips 3580 IEMs, Newegg link. The sound quality is amazing for the price, I got them on sale at Newegg for $9.99 w/free shipping. You could probably pick them up for ~$10 at various stores. They are IEMs, so they form a seal in your ear and block out sound pretty well. The bass is very good, there is a sub bass there that you don't hear in a lot of cheap headphones. These aren't bass heavy though, I've listened to jazz and rock on them and they sound very good. Downsides is they are cheap and feel cheap. Phillips obviously concentrated on sound quality and cheaped out on everything else. The cable is particularly bad, it has 'memory' so it's kind of stiff. You can work with it and bend it the way you want but it's not loose enough to just hang naturally.

I managed to get some Altec Lansing Earbuds off of "1SaleADay". Eight bucks, why not? Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I considered all of them, but these were purchased as a gift and happen to be pretty high quality too. Way out of my budget if they weren't on that site.
