School task, had to make black and white portraits in an area close to school that the teacher had picked and we had been given a classmate to photograph, so we had to make portraits of eachother. We were about 14 groups and had only 3 reflectors to use, so I didn't bother the others and just used natural light. But the light was pretty low where it was possible to photograph (in the shadow, because it was a strong summer-like sunlight) so I had to have a big aperture and low shutter, so the focus is a bit fudged up at times, but re-sizing helps at least. Then there is 4 more I have to edit, but eh, I don't like them that much anyways. C&C and all that crap. And I generally wanted to NOT take classical close up portraits just so that is out there.
They look too dark for B&W
i like the 6th one a lot, the circular hole is very interesting
A bit dark, but they're pretty decent.
They look too dark for B&W
You sure you don't just have you screen a bit too dark? because I know these would be pretty fucking dark on my school monitors because the contrast on those Dell screens are horrible, but on my monitor they're relatively light. But I also did try to have a lot of contrast in these though, so I dunno. But none of the dark areas are burnt out though.

These are pretty light on my monitor too. About the portraits, some are decent, but the angles from below are not exactly flattering to a fat person.
I think YOUR monitor is too bright.
Not really. It's pretty close to what one should get when printing out on a photo printer.
These are pretty light on my monitor too. Nah, yeah you're right, but neither is the grungy backgrounds though.
Yeah I agree. When you do portrait photography. You should know the persons 'good side'
I do. He's the person that goes around acting cool all the time without being a douche. Throws out burn comments one after the other, makes beatbox sounds, does some sort of karate (I forgot what kind of martial arts) dances and buddifully hits you in the shoulder and jokes around with you. I didn't just throw him in the picture and just let him stand there, the poses reflect his personality and the backgrounds fit him quite well too. I just did not execute the shots very well. I know this all just sounds like excuses and shit, but eh, my explanations always ends up like that.
