I have decided that I will need a new PC as I have been using the same piece of shit since 2006, however I do not know what to buy. I would like the best possible for the price.
As I said before I have a £900 budget and am living in the UK so if parts could be linked through UK-based sites that'd be very helpful indeed. I do not need an OS, mouse, keyboard or monitor, but everything else I will need.
Thanks very much.
The OS is 64 bit and I would rather the graphics card be Nvidia unless there is better for the price, and I'd like the CPU to be an i5 or i7 preferably, other than that I'm in your hands.
This is what I've put together:
Coolermaster HAF X with Coolermaster GX 750W PSU
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
Samsung SH-S222AB/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 570 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler
This comes to £985, a bit over budget but I can do that. What do you guys think?
(Woops, forgot the heatsink. Fixed it.)
Is the OS 32 or 64 bit
Sorry I should have said, 64.
Looks good, if you can afford all that then you're set! go buy baby!

I think you should get a HAF 912 instead, and get a better PSU because OEM PSU's won't last long if you're overlclocking and shit
Ah yes, the HAF 912 was what I was looking for but I couldn't remember the name of it, thanks very much.
I have never overclocked before and am not looking to start, but thanks for your advice.
What PSU do you recommend for the 912?

2500k, 570, SLi ready for a future upgrade
£867.56 including delivery
Is that better or worse than the one I posted?
Don't get the HAF 912. It doesn't have dust filters, which makes it collect dust. Get the haf x. Thrust me, it's worth it. :buddy:
Yeah I read into it a little and saw that. I'm probably going to get the one I posted since reapaninja's one seems slightly worse.

explain how you managed to come to the conclusion that it's worse despite using the same basic parts, except with a better PSU, better heatsink and a far less ricer and better value case
[editline]8th June 2011[/editline]
not to mention managing to knock £120 off the cost using the same basic outline?

I don't know.
I think you should invest in a 700W quality power supply, with over 60 amps in the 12v rail, trust me, my HD4850 broke down 5 OEM PSU's before i bought a nice expensive quality one.

assuming you ARE going to overclock and then you can properly upgrade or get another graphics card to SLi or CFX with

did you not read any posts in this thread because no one has suggested any shit PSUs

and 700W won't have a comfortable amount of headroom with two 570s
Does the case have to be that big, I mean is it necessary because it won't fit on my desk (about reapaninja's build).
Would this one be okay instead?

Two GTX 570 will output around 450W max, both of them in full load, so yes it's enough. Get 800W if it bothers you so much.

then why did you put the HAF X in the original build?

or a Define R3 but if you're spending £80 the XL is far better value, it's usually much more expensive (£120)

I didn't realise just how big it was.
and as usual acid rates me dumb whenever he can for no apparent reason.
