I'm on track to purchase a new laptop from Newegg, along with a cooling pad and mouse. I've found this so far:
Cooling pad:

Mouse options:

OR
Logitech MX 518 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical Gaming Mouse
I'm leaning heavily toward the MX 518 at this point, but I'm concerned when looking at the specifications: it says it's 'recommended' for Windows Vista. Does this mean it won't be compatible at all with Windows 7? The page doesn't seem to mention Windows 7 at all, and I'm worried that the extra software to change sensitivity on the fly might not work with the laptop.
The IntelliMouse seems like a great standby. I don't really care if it's optical/laser or wired/wireless.
Obviously, though, I would prefer the MX 518 as I'll be doing some gaming. I'm just worried about compatibility.
Can anyone tell me if this mouse will work with my Windows 7-loaded laptop? Also, I would appreciate recommendations about cooling pads.
It will work just fine.
Mouse drivers have stayed almost exactly the same for a while now.
The "Windows Vista Compatible" thing is just a label they throw on to get extra sales from the tech illiterate.
