US President Donald Trump has tweeted that Iran is “on notice” after testing a ballistic missile as he also threatened to withdraw federal funds from UC Berkeley after protests against a planned appearance by a controversial editor of conservative news website Breitbart.
In a string of early morning tweets, Mr Trump claimed that Iran was on its “last legs” before the nuclear deal struck under his predecessor.
His comments came after Michael Flynn, Mr Trump’s national security adviser, forcefully denounced Iran’s behaviour in his first public remarks since Mr Trump took office.
He accused Iran of threatening US allies and spreading instability throughout the Middle East while faulting the Obama administration for doing too little to stop the Islamic Republic.
“As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice,” Gen. Flynn said from the White House podium.
Senior Trump administration officials said they were actively considering a “range of options” including economic measures and increased support for Iran’s regional adversaries.
The officials, who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity, declined repeatedly to say whether military action was being considered.
What the hell is he doing? You don't tell people OVER TWITTER how terrible a deal was.
Can we please shadowban Trump from Twitter.
How does he still have access to his personal Twitter account.

It's where he feels safe, behind a computer screen or a phone line. He would be eaten alive if he said it to their face.
:hurr:
I still can't believe this man is actually POTUS.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
this is absolutely mad.
On a seriously note it's really dark that innocents will die because Trump (or his advisors) wanted a war.

"give him a chance"

I'm never going to let go of the idea that many of his supporters said he won't fight any wars. He's already said he's going to fight one war, and this belligerence could mean another war potentially.

I'm just picturing Eyebots floating around in a post-apocalyptic setting, running through those lines over and over.
But Trump, if you invade Iran, how will you have enough forces to invade China and Mexico too?
How the actual fuck can you tweet stuff like this publicly?

He'll just reinstate the draft and draft everyone above the age of 5.
Does he think he doesn't have the responsibilities of a president just because he's posting on his personal account? God I wish they would ban him, and I think it would be totally reasonable too. He actually has the power to legitimately hurt 'Iran', so stuff like this should count as 'personal threats' except on a fucking national level. Twitter should absolutely not accept nations threatening each other and destabilizing international relations on their platform. I'm just so tired of this piece of shit.

That's a clever way of avoiding the draft himself.

The next day: Trump issues executive order fining Twitter and petulantly demanding they reinstate him.

"MAGA... Maga... maga..."
The signal repeats, steadily deteriorating, and then fades into nothingness. Long shot of the universe. There is no one behind the camera.
The smart thing to do would be restore relations with Iran or fund opposition parties but this is Trump after all.

you forgot that he's a businessman.

Twitter is run by libertarian-minded corporate officers who believe freedom of speech is essential no matter what is being said. That is why it took nearly 5 years for Washington to push them into banning the various accounts of Jihadists using it as a propaganda tool.

Yeah, it seems very unlikely to happen. I won't be surprised at all if Trump informally declares war via Twitter at some point in the coming years. One big Islamic terrorist attack and America is going to be at war with 7 countries 'chosen by Obama'.
Honestly I don't think he should be banned from Twitter, as much as I hate him.
Nothing he has said violates their terms and services (as far as I know) and really the only reason anyone wants him off is simply because he is POTUS and saying these things.
The terms and services apply to what is said, not who says it.
Well putting things like this on twitter is one way to do it I suppose, I mean most world leaders would hold a conference about it or speak to a news station but this is different I guess.
How is anyone supposed to take him seriously, impeachment when?
:hammered:
It blows my mind that people endorsed Trump on the basis that he would be less of a warmonger than Clinton.

He is the president of the United States of America. His words have more weight than anyone else's. He can and will start a war just by saying something dumb on Twitter, and it is Twitter's responsibility to the world to ban him now in order to prevent this.
At least by forcing him to go through normal channels it provides a delay so that literally anyone can convince him not to say something absolutely batshit.
Trump is the only person in the whole country I can see reinstating the draft. People are whining about anti-Trump protests now, but I guarantee we'll see every parent in the country on the streets if that happened.
Did Trump look at Kim Jung Un and say "I can out-do that"????

Lmfao imagine what trump would have to say if Twitter banned him? I can tell you now freedom of speech would be mentioned :v: and then Twitter would face backlash for being unpatrotic and "biased"

Since Trump is getting uppity about someone using a weapon
"And by the way, with Iran, when they circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats and they make gestures that our people -- that they shouldn't be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water."
Just waiting for the supporters to come in and explain: "Oh, he didn't mean X, he meant Y. You guys are all overreacting!" Trump's communication is infuriatingly ambiguous, there's practically never any hard substance to it. This allows him so much freedom to explain things in favorable light however they turn out to be. It's the usual politician BS trumped up and spiced with more aggression to divert accusations of floundering. I get it's easy to get outraged (or thrilled, whatever your prejudice about him) at his tweets but they're all just word salad with fuck all meaning behind them.
Ready to collapse? How, exactly?
