• Help with a build

Hey Facepunch! I've got some cash rolling in so I decided that a new computer would be neat. I live in Sweden, with about 12 550 SEK to spend but if necessary I can throw in another 2000-5000 SEK. OS (Win7), montior (1920x1080), keyboard, mouse and speakers are already covered for. The games I'll be playing will be BC2, DA:O, CoH, TF2 and so on. Applications I'm not sure what that means. I hope this will suffice. Thank you for your interest. E: I was told that applications means programs. I'll be using Steam, that's for sure.
well, with applications it also means things like 3d modelling and stuff. WIll you be doing things like 3d modelling or heavy video editing (hd videos)? also you should state that 12 250 sek is like 1 500 USD and that 2000 is like 250 usd and 5000 sek is like 630 usd.
Huh, 12250sek is $1.547.

My apologies.
Kan du tänka dig att bygga ihop den själv? [editline]11:56PM[/editline] [editline]11:57PM[/editline] http://www.inet.se/artikel/1517094/inet-taurus-ultimate-gamer Denna funkar med.
It's possible.
Alright then. Go for one of mine computers then.
http://www.inet.se/artikel/1517094/inet-taurus-ultimate-gamer
Just no. GTX 465 isnt worth it and is nowhere near the 5870. Almost everything in the 1st build is better than in that taurus(although it doesnt have a OS yet) and the CPU isn't as good as the i7 860 but still it's a lot better than the pre-built.
Alright then. Go for one of mine computers then.
I would like some more options and opinions from other FPers in the sense of _machine's post before I make up my mind.
Shameful bump.
Shameful bump.
It seems solid.
I agree with the build posted above, looks solid (Not the prebuild).
I would have to agree, but not to rain on anyones parade, but using a core2duo and equivalent mobo would seriouly cheapen down the system and give more cpu power. Seeing as the low end i5's are basically rebranded G2 34nm core2duo's.
Shut up now and go away. Get the i5 750, it's really great, and it's a quad core. There's no idea in investing in Dual core systems anymore, since games are getting better and better support for Quad's.

BF:BC2 recommends having a Quad, and so do ALOT of other games. You will notice a big performance jump in such games, when going from a duo to a quad.. Some of the i5 is Duo's with HT..

GTA IV got quad support recently, yet it doesn't say so in the recommended specs, anywhere.
GTA IV got quad support recently, yet it doesn't say so in the recommended specs, anywhere.
Well that would probably be because it only just got it, right?

If its not recommended it doesn't necessarily mean that they don't. Please do some [del]fucking therapy[/del] research before posting.
Just go away kbutcher5. You obviously haven't been updated since '07 on what hardware is good, and whatsnot.
Feel free to use the additional 5000 SEK. I would love to play Crysis too. :P
Just get Carlios's build, tis' good.

If you took Carlios Build, and swapped out the power supply for that cooler master. Carlios's build would be pretty fuckin good.
If I managed to get this right.
