Tornadoes barreled through Alabama and Mississippi on Monday, part of an ongoing storm system that has claimed dozens of lives. Frantic, chilling moments showcase the impact of the twisters.
The sky darkened. Rain pounded down. Lighting crashed overhead, visual clues to the approaching storm.
In Louisville, Miss., a tornado churned through forests and across highways as storm-chasers captured the twister's power.

Meanwhile, sunny skies and blazing heat for Texas.

Fuck tornadoes man, scary shit.
This actually caused the states of North Dakota and South Dakota to do massive state-wide Tornado Warning tests.

You mean in addition to monthly tests? Or do they not do those in ND and SD?

I don't hear monthly tests, but we do have some every year for sure. ND here.
We had schools closed in my area. My wife's school was closed when they were supposed to do TCAP testing, which never happens.

All I know was that the entire state was under a huge test the other night, and a few of the sirens were going off here in Mandan.
This must have been a pretty weak tornado as it wasn't windy at all and I couldn't hear it.
I was on my computer when the power went out and I walked into my kitchen when my phone started going nuts saying there was a tornado on the ground in my town. The rain and lightning stop. So I played it smart and walked outside to get a better look and I walk around to the side of my house and see this. I instantly ran to my neighbor's house and knocked on the door to warn them but they were already gone to pick up their son at the bus stop. I took some pictures and kept an eye on it to make sure it didn't come my way and fortunately didn't.

I dunno what I would have done. However, to me, it seems storms don't like Georgia very much. It's like, whenever storm get to Georgia, they go "Man, fuck this state!". Anyway, at least you weren't hurt. Can't say the same for those who lost their lives of family and friends. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.
Hopefully in these areas instead of spending millions rebuilding homes to keep getting destroyed people find an affordable way to build homes underground

Neat pictures, but as someone who lives in the middle of tornado alley myself, that's the last thing you wanna do when a tornado is in the area. Get the fuck inside or to a safe place!
You never know when a rouge piece of debris will go flying by and suddenly you get impaled by a 2x4.

Or build reinforced concrete bunker homes.

Introducing the new Vault-Tec Vault!

I was...I live in a neighborhood of double-wide trailers. It's safer to be outside in a ditch.
I actually have a large ditch about 2-3 feet deep that all my neighbors were ready to jump into if it came our way. There was like 7 people in my yard for like 2 hours waiting for the storm to pass.
I think in Tornado Alley there should be a building code requirement that an underground storm shelter be within a few hundred feet of residences.
