[quote]Boy, 11, 'accidentally hangs himself while playing XBox'
Tragedy: Tributes are left at the home of Callum Stockley, who died on Monday Tragedy: Tributes are left at the home of Callum Stockley, who died on Monday A boy aged 11 is believed to have accidentally hanged himself while playing with his XBox.
Callum Stockley died while playing in his room on Monday night, and was allegedly found suspended from the top of his bunk bed. Friends and neighbours claimed the boy accidentally became tangled up in the XBox cable as he jumped from the bed when his mother, Stephanie, called him downstairs.
He was airlifted to University Hospital in Coventry but died before he arrived. Yesterday a friend of the family in Exhall Green, Coventry, said: 'It is just an appalling tragedy.
'Apparently Callum was sitting on his bunk-bed playing with his Xbox when somehow he got the cable wrapped around his neck. It looks like he accidentally hanged himself. The family are absolutely shattered by what has happened.'
Another neighbour, who did not wish to be named, added: 'The word is that it was a tragic accident. I heard a police officer say Callum got the wire snagged round his neck and he couldn't reach the ground with his feet.'
The accident happened just before 8pm on Monday as Callum played on his games console on the top bunk of his bed. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Warwickshire Air Ambulance were unable to resuscitate him.
A spokeswoman for the Nuneaton and Bedworth Coroner confirmed his death and said: 'There was no third party involvement. We are treating this as a tragic death.'
Anne Perry, headteacher of St Giles Junior School where Callum was a pupil, said: 'Callum was a lovely little boy who was friendly to everyone around school.
'We are devastated to hear this tragic news and our thoughts and prayers go out to Callum's family. We will miss him immensely.'
Since the accident hundreds of mourners have left tributes to the popular school boy on his Facebook page.
One friend wrote: 'Such a tragic loss at such a young age.'
'You may have been taken from this bad world Callum but the memories of you will always live on in everyone that knew you.
'My heart goes out to your family, no words can describe such a tragic loss.
R.I.P mate, sleep tight and let the angels look after you now.'
One teacher at St Giles Junior School described him as 'a role model student'.
She wrote: 'I can't believe this. St Giles has lost one of its role model students. Such a sad loss to us all.'
Another friend said: 'You will always be in our heart, you won't EVER be forgotten.
'You are our army buddie. I have known you since nursery and I remember your birthday parties, your smile, your dream to be in the army.
'I'll remember your laugh, you were such a nice friend to everyone and you made everyone laugh.'
Warwickshire Police are treating the death as 'unexplained'.
A post mortem is expected to take place this week and an inquest will be opened and adjourned next week.

Looks like his mothers food was to die for.
[sp]It's because he owned an Xbox.[/sp]
What I really don't get is how strong that damn cable must have been. Wouldn't it have snapped or ripped out of the wall/console?
ADDENDUM: Honestly though, it would be awful to be the family member of someone who died in a way like this. It'd be so fucking ridiculous and heartbreaking at the same time.
It makes me think how the families of people who die from erotic asphyxiation must try not to laugh.

Xbox is DOMINATING Callum Stockley
I bet it was a corded 360 controller he had survived if it was ps3, since the controller cord had just popped out of the controller.
