"Added sv_namechange_cooldown_seconds, to throttle clients from changing their name too rapidly. (Defaults to 20 seconds)" I was playing just yesterday when members of the opposite team kept changing their names when dead on Assault to give away my location. Way to go developers.
It's nice that they continue to update it even though CS:GO is released
It's nice that they continue to update it even though CS:GO is released
they are the best
It's nice that they continue to update it even though CS:GO is released
Knew someone would say this, even though the update is just a paste from an earlier update... Is it really that bad that we need to complement devs for updating their games?
The new update is causing server instability. Crashes a lot when using admin commands and such.
Knew someone would say this, even though the update is just a paste from an earlier update... Is it really that bad that we need to complement devs for updating their games?
It's something that should be standard, but Valve is one of the few developers to actually give a shit, and we recognize them for it.
It's something that should be standard, but Valve is one of the few developers to actually give a shit, and we recognize them for it.
Fuck even the Half Life 1 engine gets the occasional update. http://store.steampowered.com/news/1921/ okay it was several years ago, but half life came out what? 1998? so it got an update 10 years after it was released
It's nice that they continue to update it even though CS:GO is released
This is said literally EVERY Valve release. When Portal 2 was released, people said "Oh, it's nice they still update Portal 1". When Left 4 Dead 2 was released, everyone complimented them for still updating L4D1. People still compliment Valve every time a DoD:S and HL2:DM update is released.
It's nice that they continue to update it even though CS:GO is released
Who doesn't update their games with bugfixes ? ubisoft ? wait, they do it too
Who doesn't update their games with bugfixes ? ubisoft ? wait, they do it too
Only if they're absolutely blatant and gamebreaking and even then it's iffy. With half-hearted ports, minor bugs and performance issues will often stay in the game. Valve and other companies that care about their PC games actually listen to the community and try to tackle even the smallest stuff.
Valve and other companies that care about their PC games actually listen to the community and try to tackle even the smallest stuff.
Valve really doesn't care much about fixing bugs in their older games unless it makes them money. In fact, they quite convincingly broke Half-Life 2, one of their flagship titles, when they "upgraded" it to the Orange Box engine for the Mac Update. This happened years ago and they still haven't bothered fixing what is perhaps one of their most successful titles: [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559824352448793320/E9DD0DFD8BC1CC3EF4A683B30FE6D04EF486C5AF/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559824352448842183/B98DB35239E5AC150913ABB70A4F515584B76AE7/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559824352449052844/B39E97A609499952D9C9CC949116DDDEA7718725/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559824352449077959/0EEF90247055C4D6B8811E3E665A5EA8D3E2A0EB/[/thumb] I'll leave you to guess which side is post-Orange Box.

Not too sure on the top one (I think it's the translucent water tower?) As for the bottom photo, In the original Half-Life 2, Dr. Breen stands up and is startled when your teleported in his office. As you can see on the screenshot to the right of it, He is just sitting there and doesn't seem to give two shits about your presence.
The skybox is fucked up in a bunch of HL2 maps as of the OB update.
