The Senate Judiciary Committee will open landmark hearings Tuesday that could ultimately lead to the legalization of marijuana or at least resolve the deep divide between a federal government that has sent mixed messages on prosecuting users and the growing number of Americans who want the drug to be legal for medicinal or recreational use.
i think this could go somewhere, although the chances are rather low
Please at least decriminalize it, it's been over 50 years of this crap.
It should be legal in pharmacies and hospitals that you need a prescription for. You must prove that you have cancer or something serious in order to get it. Other then that if it's on the street, illegal.
Other then that if it's on the street, illegal.
Why
Can we please just treat this the same as tomatoes.
Why
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
It should be legal in pharmacies and hospitals that you need a prescription for. You must prove that you have cancer or something serious in order to get it. Not to mention if it's perfectly ok to smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol recreationally, why can't people smoke weed recreationally?
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
Holy shit

Cigarette smoke doesn't cause you to hallucinate and temporarily loose brain power.
Cigarette smoke doesn't cause you to hallucinate and temporarily loose brain power.
I'm not even going to bother going any further with you.
It's only a matter of time bud, people will be wanting to marry their kids then animals etc. Much like if Marijuana is legal. It won't be enough, people will then start demanding Cocaine is legal. Then Meth, etc.
(User was banned for this post ("trolling or dumb" - postal))
I rest my case, arguing with someone like you is a waste of time and not worth the hassle.
I hope they legalize it, but if they don't, I hope they ban it outright on a federal level until they can all get some sense and legalize it federally. The current situation where it varies state by state is not really workable in the long-term, and leaving it to the states will ultimately slow its legalization in more conservative states.
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
Yeah, you can also get AIDS from those used needles right? Marijuana needs to be purely medical.

Should be treated as alcohol methinks.

I'm not as up to date as I should be, but didn't the Justice Department or someone like that say that the feds will back off if state law says otherwise?
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
It is psychoactive, not hallucinogenic.
I'd be fine with them legalizing, IF they treat it similar to how alcohol/tobacco is treated, such as, you can't drive while high, can't smoke in public area's, must be at least 18/21 to smoke, state governments have the right to regulate sale of (ABC stores), and workplaces do have the right to not hire if it is shows up in a drug test.
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
D.A.R.E honor student here folks
It is psychoactive, not hallucinogenic.
Psychoactive with hallucinogenic properties*

let's make alcohol illegal too unless you have a reason for it, why not?
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
psychoactive, but it still wouldn't matter
The hearing is on conflicts between state and federal marijuana laws. In calling for it, Leahy questioned whether, at a time of severe budget cutting, federal prosecutions of marijuana users are the best use of taxpayer dollars.
Sounds like they just be handing over prosecutions to the state.
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
So?
So?
and its evil and dangerous and worse than heroin
Obligatory mention of "weed needles."
i snorted a shitload of weed the other day and nearly od'd
Because it's a hallucinogenic drug.
At this point i'm not sure if you are trolling or uninformed
once i shot up too many nug needles and when i came to my friends were dead, the kitchen was on fire and i had just torn off my testicles
It's a slippery slope if they ban marijuana, because if they ban marijuana then they'll ban cigarettes next, then they'll ban gambling, and before you know it, it'll be illegal to drink alcohol!
Actually, if you think about it like that, im surprised that more conservatives don't support legalization since that'd mean the government would have less control over people
Please.
In the next two years, PLEASE legalize it. I'm not hold my breath(Cause I ain't puffin') but I'd love to have some that smoke!
