Anyone noticed how, with each cover of the mainstream games, the art becomes higher detailed and more realistic?

i always thought that iii/vc had the best covers because of their lack of detail
they're super stylized which is better than trying to draw actual scenes

They made it after someone posted a picture of the cover art being painted on an advertisement board, so they already knew what most of it would be
