• Converting a MiniUSB port to ExtUSB?

I have an HTC Dream and I like to listen to music on my phone. Sadly, it doesn't have a standard 3.5mm jack, but a stupid proprietary extension called ExtUSB. I had some earphones that came with it, but those have broken so I was left without music for a while. I started ordered ExtUSB to 3.5mm adapters off Ebay and other sites, but those things were always incredibly cheap and would break after a few weeks. I'm looking for a more permanent solution. I know that you can plug in a standard MiniUSB cable into an ExtUSB port, and that charges the phone and allows for data transfers, but it does not work for MiniUSB earphones. I was wondering, is there a way I could somehow hack some MiniUSB earphones to match the ExtUSB's sound pattern? I have some pinouts: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/htc_hermes_usb_connector_pin_config http://pinouts.ru/Slots/USB_pinout.shtml But I was unable to find the pinouts for the MiniUSB sound mapping. My guess is the sound channels probably go through the two data pins. Now I have all that information, but no idea what to do with it. I know how to solder basic wires, and I got basic electronics knowledge, but not much else. Would anyone know where to start? Thanks.
Impossible. Only solution is buying a (expensive but) good quality EXTusb to MP3 adapter

If you look at the pin layouts, it has one side for usb and one side for audio. So you need to find an EMU connector and connect the audio channels to pins 2, 6 and 4.
