• Firefox Memory Usage Skyrockets, Cannot Load Web?

Ever since a week or two ago Firefox has randomly become completely unstable for me, and I'd like to find out how to fix. Disabling ALL extensions and plugins doesn't solve this - its something wrong with firefox itself (IE works fine and loads up pages fine too). Basically, after I load a couple of tabs or a web page or two, I can't get any pages to load. No matter what; it is as if my internet doesn't work (it does though: I.E. works fine and so does steam). A blank web page and a constant "loading" symbol until it eventually freezes and I have to force shut it off. Looking at my memory usage, I notice something VERY suprising: whenever this happens (very often), my memory usage skyrockets about 2-4MB per second, constantly. Even after I "close" out of it before it decides to freeze, it'll constantly be memory leaking at a super high rate in the background. This happens even if I close out of all my tabs and only have one tab open with the web page "stopped". This happens on any and all websites, without any plugins or extensions enabled. Basically, stock FF 8.0 Never had this issue before. Is my only solution to uninstall and painstakingly reinstalling all my bookmarks, extensions, etc under Chrome? Because I'd rather not have to go through with that.
Sadly, you're stuck switching to Chrome. However, you might be able to get Firefox to behave long enough to upload your bookmarks to XMarks.
Try changing network.http.max-connections in about:config to 48
It's already at 48 Looks like I'm stuck with ditching firefox and all my handy plugins :( Was nice knowing you! I had the same problem after updating to Firefox 8. I just uninstalled fully - removing the profile as well. Then reinstalled and now it's fine. All your bookmarks, password, etc. should be saved with sync and it takes 5 seconds to install some plugins. A big woopsie by Mozilla though.

Not that big of a switch.
I just know firefox has a strong memory function. No matter how many times I refresh the page, it remains the same. I hate this..
