• CPU upgrade

I have finally decided to get a Phenom II 955be. I have heard that despite the cpu being great for the money, the default cooler sucks and gets rather loud (I have this cooler right now, but my cpu doesn't get hot enough to challenge it). I am debating getting a third party cpu cooler. Any recommendations? Specs: add to that my cooler master elite 340 case (for size reference, it's a m-ATX mid)
How much are you willing to spend, and are you going to over-clock it?
I would rather upgrade that 4770 to a 4800 series/5770 and overclock that Regor to like 3.4 Ghz.

It barely made it to 3.5 plus my Asrock motherboard is terrible for overclocking anyway. (fyi, I've already purchased the quad core hopefully be here on tuesday) Not to mention that the hd 4770 is overclocked nicely at: 840 core 1000 mem (from 750 core 800 mem) It performs almost on par with a 4870 and runs cool (see speccy pic) and I am fine with its performance atm. I'd prefer to not spend too much on a cooler, perhaps no more then $40-50 I just want it to be quieter and keep it cooler then stock, at a nice safe temp. It's a trivial difference between a 4870 at the overclock mine is stable at, not to mention not worth the money to go to the 4800 series when this thing at stock almost beats a 4850.

Anyway, then you should get a Phenom II or an Athlon II quadcore.
Hes asking about coolers he already got the quadcore.
My bad.
Getting a cooler depends entirely on whether you are going to overclock. Unless you're going for real high clock speeds, then you should be fine with a stock cooler.
You should get a Cooler Master Hyper 212+. I get 40 degrees while idling on my Phenom 2. :) Also, 200 MHz RAM?

Are there any cooler's that compare with it's performance/price?
